Galaxy 2547 Base Radio

My Galaxy radio functions fine except for the following problem. When the radio is first turned on and the dial is set to the power mode the needle doesn't want to move to show the power output when you key up. When the radio warms up the needle only works sometimes when you key up. I don't know what the problem is. On incoming signals in the power mode it works perfectly. I have researched the problem and know one seems to no what is causing the problem.

Its Possible it just needs to be re calibrated. Are you also using an external meter to check your output. If not get an inline meter to verify that in actuality your system is fine regardless what the internal meter is saying.......Hope this helps.......

Broken the jaw of radio galaxy 2547 dx

If you open it to much you will be going into another band but 5 k isn't to much. you may want to have someone do it for you because you will need some equipment to do it correct. A scope, freq. counter a power meter a multimeter and a function generator. It can be done by eye and listening but it is always better using technology.

How to install echo board in a Galaxy 2547

  • The DX2547 is the same as a Galaxy 959 - a SSB/AM CB radio. The standard of echo boards is the TRB-X2. This installs the same way in most CB radios. I have uploaded an instruction sheet here http://minus.com/lbkZJ6ZfR6qbEY Very easy to follow. If you happen to have any further questions please feel free to ask.

  • Hope this helps..

I WANT TO BUY A GALAXY 2547 CB RADIO. I FOUND ONE AND IT SAYS EXPORT USE ONLY . WHAT DOES IT MEAN, CAN I USE IT. THANKS

Normally, this radio will only work on CB frequencies. I suspect the radio has been modified to get channels below and above the regular 40. If so, the radio is no longer type-accepted by FCC. It is unlikely you would get into trouble using the radio.
