I've had a few clients with this issue. I have used these steps from RIM. Try it and see if it helps.
Here’s what you need to do: 1. Uninstall Desktop Manager 2. Remove any references on your registry and on your C drive program files and users to: a. Blackberry b. Pumatech c. Research in Motion d. RIM e. Desktop Manager 3. Disable the UAC (User Accounts) on Control Panel-Users 4. Get a command prompt and type regsvr32 atl.dll (enter) 5. Reboot 6. Make sure that when you re-install you have absolutely no SpyBot, Virus, Spam guard or the like running. 7. Reinstall Desktop Manager (version 4.2 SP2) 8. If you get an “Error 1904….Lotus Notes…” Ignore it 9. After you do all this, it should work
First off, please don't give me a bad rating, as I don't have Vista, and this is simply a guess..
Secondly, Look around in the settings in WDMC, maybe there is a setting to copy contacts on device onto outlook on the PC. Don't bother looking in outlook since the device usually sync with Activesync/WDMC, which does the rest it self.
inbox is must in any outlook profile, but you can setup calender for example to be default at MS outlook startup. go to tools-->options-->other-->advanced options--> look for start up in this folder field-->Browse then choose your folder(calender or contacts) .
