I have a Blue Point Industrial mig welder, model YA240B,mfg. by century. When I turn the wire speed to the low end, 2 or lower on dial, it stops feeding the wire. The wire is free in liner and wire spool is free. With no wire in rollers the feeder does turn. Whats my problem?

Wire slows down during welding and then suddenly jerks back to correct speed.i installed a new board and it did not fix problem. i also checked the brushes on the motor and they looked fine. its a series...

try replacing the potentiometer, this is the variable dial which alters the speed. It should show the value in ohms on the back of the case, these are relatively cheap and can be bought from RS. Its sound like the wiper in the dial is loose.

Century mig welder. The wire speed is spinning at max speed as soon as the machine is turned ON. Will only stop when machine is OFF.

My Century 225 mig has lost its power ...with adjustments to max it leaves a high weld deposit and low penertration.

What is the fix ?
