I had tried all that. In the end I removed the battery and then replaced it, turned it on and it has detected wireless router.

Always start with the simplest answer first so make sure you have WiFi turned on. Think back, have you changed the wireless security on your router? If so you may need to re-enter the network details or add your iPAQ's MAC address to the access control list on the router. In the bottom right-hand corner of the home screen you should have a small HP Wireless symbol, if you tap it you should get your HP Wireless control panel on screen and can 1: turn WiFi on and off, 2: manually enter the WiFi network details and 3: search for WiFi networks in range.

starting to look like there's a hardware issue with wireless (both WiFi and BlueTooth) on the 5550, you may want to contact HP to see if they have an answer for you.

Hey
you need to go to start, settings, connections, and you have to change the connections, edit, My ISP --- make sure its set this connects to the internet.

lets see how thats done on my own HTC windows mobile pda / phone.

So
1. start
2. settings
3. from the bottom, connections
4. connections
5. on the bottom advanced.
6. Programs that automatically connect to the internet should connect using - MY ISP or MY work network. Then click on edit
7. On the bottom proxy settings
8. check the box this network connects to the internet.

that should be it, I've had this same problem a number of times myself.

let me know if you need further assistance.

IPAQ H5555 connection problems

Hi, This could be due to a few issues, try these soloutions in order below: 1) If you have a jacket connected to the ipaq it could be preventing the ipaq from locating correctly on the connector. Remove jacket and try insering again. 2) Check that active sync is set up to detect the device on the usb port. The cradle for the ipaq may have a serial and usb connector. Ensure that just the usb connector is attached to your laptop. Try connecting again. 3) You may need to uninstall the USB cradle if it was connected before installing active sync. Try the following steps if this was the case: a) unplug the USB cradle b) uninstall active sync c)Click start then click control pannel then click system. Then click on the hardware tab. Look for the device under USB, right click on the device and then select uninstall. d) restart the laptop e) Install active sync f) ONLY after active sync has installed you can now plug the cradle back into the usb socket. g) Now connect the ipaq, it should now detect it.

Connecting a Ipaq RX3715 to a wireless router

First, you have to be sure your ipaq has wi-fi feature is on and you can check on network connectivity option for any wrong setup there. According to your information, your ipaq is not recognized by your router and I agreed that your router is working normally. Try to reboot your ipaq and be sure to get wi-fi to turn on and try to connect it again. I have my Dell Axim also used Windows Mobile like Ipaq and it connected easily with no issue. The message in your to show me that you need first to identify your ipaq before you you can get it to connect to your network. I hope this help.

WLAN problems

Just some stabs in the dark:

1) Are the site and your iPAQ using the same security setting? Both must be the same: WEP, OPEN (none) or WPA.

2) Does the site require you to acknowledge an opening page FIRST before allowing you to proceed to the page you wish? This happens to me frequently. I'm redirected initally to an acknowledgement page (legalese) first and I (at first) didn't realize I have to scroll down, find the OK and click to proceed.

3) Sometimes in the past, I've had to disable security at the router (assuming you control it, like at home), connect in the open, turn security back on, reconnect using passkey and from then on, I'm connected without having to reenter key (based on setting). Didn't make any sense to me, but it seemed to work that was, for a couple different devices I own.

IPAQ rx3100 series

old mixed with the new. this toy PDA is 14 year old today.
do you own the router or the ISP or phone company?
you mean wifi, wireless has many forms!
the new router is using security that the old IPAQ cant do.
you have 2 choices
1: change THE ROUTER to weak encryption (and risk all other computers using it)
2: or get rid of the IPAQ, they are junk now. old and obsolete and no support, HP retired them, as legacy status.

if your read the manual for the IPAQ, it clearly shows its limits.
lots.
spec. 802.11b
WEP 64/128-bitcompliant to IEEE 802.11Compliant to 802.1X (EAP-TLS,PEAP)WPA

see the lack of WPA2?
if you set up your router to be wpa2 only as most folks do for
max security and ISP do,, no IPAQ like this works.

to others reading the battery just pops out on this newer model
then see a white sticker that sticker shows if your PDA
was opted with wifi and or bluetooth, there.

on the pda menus , labeled WIFI
make sure all off is not set to on, on main screen
click settings.

chapter 7 in the manual covers this.
turn it on
turn off ipaq wifi power saving mode, or it will fail.

the 3 lines in read below
must match your routers setting.
for example min router has WEP turned off so i cant get hacked.
wep is no longer secure.

HP IPAQ 5555 1.10.13 ROM UPDATE

I thought my 5555 with 1.10.10 was the latest and most stable?? How come i didnt know about 1.10.13 ROM Update... Anyway, i think it is your Camera Update that causes it. But to confirm, which ROM are you using now? Go to "Start" >> Settings >> "Asset Viewer" >> Under Version >> check the ROM Revision. 1.10.10 had no major problems, only sometimes when i couldnt connect to my wireless router / bluetooth problems, but now it is okay, dun worry.

Internet connection at my e830

To configure the Wireless connection you can use the Wifi connection wizard or setup the connection manually. I hope that you have checked your workgroup too. Also you should check if your IP settings are the same at the router and PDA (dynamic and static IP)! If you have some another device connected to the router remember them when you setup the PDA connection! In the end the MAC address of the PDA WLAN card must be saved in the router!

Hx2410 general wi-fi questions

Have you been able to connect through your router at home? I'd get that set up and running first. Then doing it on the road will merely be variations on a familiar theme. If you've tried at home but it hasn't worked, let us know something about your home network (what kind of router? using security/encryption?), and about what you've already tried so we can try to help.
