Question about Panasonic TC-26LX20 26 in. HD-Ready LCD Television
There is a black/gray, 1 inch thick horizontal line that runs from the middle of the right edge of screen almost to the left edge. It tapers to about 1/2 inch about the middle (or center) of the screen and continues on. Only not apparent when whatever is on that portion of the screen is very dark. I paid $1800 for this TV and I hope this is easily, inexpensively rectified. Cable company (RCN) recalled/replaced an old cable box a few months ago because of "universal" problems -- details of which I do not know. TV was on shelf above that and is now on shelf above much smaller, replacement cable box Shelf below that holds my Panasonic DVD/VCR (although a Samsung DVD/VCR use to be on that shelf.) Bottom shelf holds my wireless router (Linksys) box connected also by the cable company.
I am also having problems with the same year and model number panasonic, it is at the repair shop now. I think it is a lemon tv. won't buy panasonics anymore. Tried all the fixes recommended by panasonic. It happens after the tv is on for longer than 1/2 hour. It happens with dvds and different hook ups. my samsung is fine on all the same connections.

mine has the same creeping up from the bottom as well.
I am having the same problem with my TV with the same model number. Dark lines that start at the right side and narrow to a point as they go left across the screen. The lines are mainly visible in dark scenes but it is getting more prominent. I'm assuming it is a problem with the back light but not sure. I was fishing around to see if someone had found out what this is but nothing yet.
I purchased my TV Feb of 2005... noticed the same creeping dark "cloud" about a year and a half ago .. started on the right side 1/3 of the way down from the top. It has since stretched across the TV and now almost touches the left side. Paid $1500 for it .. recently decided to shop for a new TV as the prices have come down.. called Panasonic 877-958-4372 to inquire if there was any kind of known defect with this model. Though they were very nice they actually said "this is the 1st complaint of this type we have received and with all the sets manufactured it is expected that there will be a very small percentage with defects". Though this is a reality I was kinda shocked to get that kind of response - like "oh well, whatever"... I am now looking to buy a TV other than a Panasonic and will be putting this one out to the curb.
