New PC's do not come password protected. Unless you bought it off the shelf at a commercial retail store that does have them password protected. If that is the case, you need to check with them.

you will need to go into your Device Manager (right click on my computer then click on properties) in device manager find you sound card then uninstall it restart your computer let it reinstall your sound drivers.
When you insert Windows XP install CD,Install as usual,when comes to screen REPAIR>click
Run as usual until Ready to install,Right Click icon bottom left hand corner to insert new Administrator Passwo0rd.Continue install,should be OK from then on
Are you talking about the bios password thats the one at the first instance. If you cant get in the only way is to remove the battery inside for an hour or so it resets and allows you back into the setup again?
