I have a Maytag Plus Side by Side refrigerator and the bottom of the freezer keeps icing up to the point that I have to end up chipping out the ice on a monthly basis. It also ends up leaking on the kitchen floor. The fridge works fine and the rest of the freezer is no problem
I just had the Maytag repair man out and he wanted to replace to parts after defrosting the freezer. Over $300. He did not have the parts with him. Soooo... I am now in the process of using a hair dryer, even tough it is 107 here today. Ice was totally covering the coils under the back panel in the freezer. Easy to take out. Just remove the shelves and you will see it. If you don't totally get all the ice out it will build up even faster. He claims this will give us 2 weeks or so while the parts on on order. I now have all the ice I can see removed, I just hope it is out of the tube above the coils. I have all my food, lots of good steaks, I want to put back in the freezer. The original problem seemed to be the refrigerator was not working but the freezer seemed to be. Well, it just faked me out because it was just a fan or ?? I heard in the freezer. Wish me luck...MJ
We had the same problem; soon your other side of the fridge will start to not cool as well. A circuit board had to be replaced per the Sears repair guy. Cost was about $270 but our icemaker doesn't work so well still. The ice cubes are hollow and it doesn't churn as well.

We have the same exact thing happening with water freezing on the bottom of the freezer and then a new water discharge leaking across the ice and onto the kitchen floor. Any help is great appreciated. Thanks.
I have the same issue.
I need to remove the drawers on my Maytag model mfi2569veb3 bottom freezer to thaw ice and clear the drain
