Question about Sony XL-2100U Projector Lamp for KF-42WE610, KF-50WE610, KF-60WE610, KDF-60XBR950, KDF-70XBR95
Today I tried to turn it on my KF50WE610 that i have had for about 4 years, and the green power light blinked for about a minute, then the red Lamp light blinked for about another minute, then the red stand by light came on. Does this mead i need to replace a lamp or bulb?

I pulled the manual, on page 13 it indicates if the red lamp light blinks, need to change the lamp light...it lasted almost a year with the ocassional slow start of lamp light blinking (perhaps 4-6 times), but the picture always came on within a couple of minutes, but now, picture will not come on....TV is about 4 yrs old also, exact same one you have....

Tried to turn it on? Sounds like you need to replace the lamp. However, I got an additional week out of my unit. Although poorly dimmed and the red Lamp light blinked constantly for that one week, at least it gave me enough warning to seek out a replacement. But so long as you're not mistaking the Power/Standby or Timer light for the Lamp light then I would have to agree with you. http://store.l-f-l.com/prod/A-1606-034-B Includes shipping to the United States and no sales tax outside of California.

WHERE DOES BULB GO
Sony KF-50WE610....lamp failed (red light blinking three times) for the fourth time since I bought the T.V. in 2004. Each time replacement bulb was Philips #312243871310. Had I been informed that I would incur a $300 cost annually on top of the $3000+ initial cost, I doubt I would have purchased this T.V. After reading the endless posts in the online forums regarding the greater problems with the "power block/light engine", I am terrified to turn it on once/if the lamp replacement is successful. Is this lamp failure inherent in every Sony LCD and is there something we can do to lessen these failures? Thank you!
I have the KF50WE610 and it is 3 years old, it wont turn on, but for the last year the TV would make a buzz sound and the the power light flashes and then it would either tuen on or if it made the sound again it would not turn on. If I tried it a couple of times it always eventually worked now the other day after an hour it turned on, It has to be something beside the lamp. Also how easy should th efront panel come off.
