Question about Toshiba P205-S6267 Notebook

Tabledit I installed Tabledit on my Toshiba P205-S6267 laptop (running Vista) and it crashed my computer. I'm currently stuck in set-up mode and cannot get the machine to re-boot. I hate Vista with a passion. How do you kill the power to the laptop? (I can't get the fricken battery out - help!)

Hi, I can not help you with Tabledit but maybe I can give you an idea about Toshiba battery removal. Below is an image of the bottom of my laptop (Toshiba Satellite A35-S209). The red arrow is the lock which must be slide towards the left or in this case down, the blue arrow is where a thin coin would be partially inserted to pry open the battery which then can be swung out (A common/flat screwdriver would also do). Hope this be of some help to you. Pls post again how things turn up. Kind regards.

Hold down the power button, that should power down the laptop.

I have a toshiba P205-S6267 laptop with windows vista it had a 120 Gigabyte drive out of the box I installed a 500GB hard drive wastold that this would make the motherboard crash or operating system...

The "worst" that could happen would be that the motherboard would either:

* not recognize/support the "large" disk-drive at all,

* would only be able to access "part" of the disk-space, e.g., the first 128GB or 256GB or 512GB of disk-space.

However, those possibilities only occurred with "older" motherboards.

Given the specifications for your computer: http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/product/pdf_files/detailed_specs/satellite_P205-S6267.pdf

and the fact that Microsoft Vista is pre-installed, you must have a "recent" motherboard, and it will support any serial-ATA disk-drive (500GB, 1TB, 2TB, ... ) that you can afford to purchase.

Toshiba satellite p205-s6267 backlight

Your system is consuming much power.

Go to Control Panel, Power Options.

Click "Advanced Power Settings" for your current power plan.

Under the section "What happens when I close the lid", choose "Do nothing" for both "Battery" and "Plugged-in".

Click "Apply" and "Ok".

Now, close the lid of your laptop and open it, it would restore but next time don't overload your system power.

This is common with Dell and Toshiba.
