My parents' Sharp LCD TV fell off the shelf and despite no outwardly obvious damage, when turned on it displays several large cracks across the screen. Although it displays light and patterns, it is so severely distorted that you can't make out what is there. I'm assuming the LCD panel is toast, so my question is, can I buy a replacement, and if so where? Thanks in advance, Doug

Hi, Unfortunately the panel is cracked internally can't can't be repaired the whole panel has to be replaced. most times the panel will cost as much as you paid for the set. My son cracked ours when it was only 3 weeks old it doesn't take much force to ruin one.
Your display circuit is broken, even if the LCD-panel,
seems to be ok the display is damaged.
This is a very common problem in Nokia phones.
The only way to fix this is to change the display.
You need a T-6 Torx Skrewdriver to do the job.
You can find displays for fair price at :

Maybe. Unplug the unit and disassembly it. Look for damaged parts or cracked circuit boards. You may also find the buttons you push to turn it on and activate the menu ect. may be damaged. In most cases the board can be repaired but because that would be time consuming and the repair man charges 60 bucks an hour it is usully not cost effective. You might get lucky and find a wire that fell off in the fall. Good luck.
