Question about Brother MFC-5840CN All-In-One InkJet Printer
When the MFC is plugged in and turned on, there is a grinding sound that comes from the area of the scanner bar. The led readout is" Please Wait..Res: Standard". The machine will cycle through this same process again and again, and never comes on for proper operation. The scanner bar, which usually aligns itself while the scanner is warming up, does not move and the rubber drive belt seems to be trying to drive the scanner bar forward, to no avail. The machine then turns itself off and tries the startup process again. An interesting observation - When the scanner bed and the printer cover is open to be able to look inside, the scanner bar aligns itself as normally the case, but the machine turns off immediately when the cover is placed in the down (normal - closed) position. I spoke with techs at the brother help site, but they were at a loss as to what is happening. Can anyone help?
Well thisone most techs have to see first. the simple solution is that the cover is binding some where and putting pressure on the scanner bar or its slide rail. my best sugestion is to take it to a printer tech and have them look at it
