My wife was using her computer and set it down to leave the house. When we came home I popped it open and it gave three loud beeps. The monitor nevers comes on but you can here the drive trying to spin up, although from the sounds of it it seems to be trying to boot up several times. Nothing at all becomes displayed on the screen, the mouse light never comes on and when I connect it to external video I get nothing. The bios never shows up nor does anything on the windows screen, it just stays black, the system isn't even trying to light it.
3 beeps is the Beep code for "Base 64KB RAM Failure". Lets hope that you are lucky and the problem is your memory. If you have two memory sticks in the computer, then try to take one of them out. Try different combinations such as swapping between the memory slots that are available. If you still getting the same error code, then your motherboard is shot.
