Remote control no longer responds for Konka K2001UM

I've had the K2001UM for years and never had a problem. My wife tried to turn off CC and in the way pressed or did something that caused the remote control to stop working (I have the original remote). I no longer have the manual for this tv, so I'm not quite sure what the problem is. I swiped out the batteries with new ones just to make sure that was not the problem. Indeed, the remote just seemed to stop working. None of the buttons respond. I'm not sure if it has something to do with parental lock, but I'm hoping someone can provide guidance on what to do to resolve the issue. Thanks in advance.

I will try what you are suggesting and will report back with findings. I would like to note though that my remote has always worked and I've never had a problem with it. My wife told me that she pressed something and it stopped working. Just a thought.

You can test the remote by holding it very close to an AM radio receiver and pushing the buttons on the remote. You may have to tune the radio accross the AM bamd to pick up the remote's signal. You should hear a popping sound each time a button is pressed. You need to hold the remote near the tuner of the AM radio. If you can't pick up a signal then you need to replace the remote. If you do pick up a signal then possibly the remote receiver in your TV is bad or the remote is not putting out the proper IR signal. Stargazer

Once the TV is turned on, it immediately begins to flip from channel to channel by itself. Also, the TV no longer responds to the remote control.

check for a clogth chanel button, is very rare, but in the past, I solve this problem by changing that switch, is a job for a tech not for regular people remember, there are many dangerous circuit in a tv.....good luck
