Re: 1 red light
1 red light tells us nothing about the problem, from that description you may simply have your Xbox 360 on standby.
What happened before the problem started and what you have done to try and resolve it already?
For that matter is the red LED on the front of the console or on a connected device?
One thing to keep in mind is that Microsoft have admitted to the industry that all 11,000,000 beige Xbox 360 consoles manufactured have exactly the same fault, the fabricator used the wrong solder and several Xbox 360's have had there GFX chips fall off the motherboard (got to love Microsoft quality!).
Anyway, as a result of this Microsoft have extended all beige Xbox 360 warranties to 3 years so you should be able to make a claim for repair/replacement under your Microsoft warranty.

if the Lamp error and Temperature error lights are flashing red this means that there are two separate errors.
flashing lamp light means the lamp failed to ignite. It could be a lamp
driver problem or lamp failure. Replace the lamp to resolve the issue.
If the issue is not resolved, then service the projector.
A flashing Temperature light signals a fan error. Turn the projector
off and allow it to cool down. If the light is still flashing after the
projector is turned back on, service the projector.
The red light indicates a dead battery. Test the battery with a volt meter, to make certain you do not have a bad battery. Even if the battery was "new", it still might be bad. If that does not resolve the problem, contact Shure to have receiver repaired.
red light flashing indicates an issue with the power supply board, there may be other issues but until this is resolved you cannot do anything with the unit. contact point of sale or b and w service to have the problem resolved, this is a known problem!
if you are getting the E74. you have a graphics output problem.
This can be resolved by purchasing a red-ring repair kit.
the graphics chip has overheated, towards the rear of the 360.
You could try this first, *** Warning opening the 360 will void any warranty*** if it,s still under warranty return, for service/repair.
After opening the console, remove the fan connector. power on the 360 until you get 2 red lights.
Which will tell you that the console has overheated. power off. reconnect the Fan. this may resolve the problem. If not You need to obtain A RROD Kit.
Turn off your Xbox 360 console, disconnect and reconnect all cables, and then turn your Xbox 360 console back on. If this step doesn't resolve the problem, try step 2.
Turn off the console, and then disconnect any connected accessories, such as controllers, Xbox 360 memory units, and the Xbox 360 hard disk. With these accessories removed, restart the console to see whether the problem persists and to pinpoint whether it is the console or an accessory. If this step doesn't resolve the problem, try step 3.
If you continue to experience the problem, contact Xbox Customer Service. If the Xbox Customer Service agent cannot help you resolve the problem, you may have to return your Xbox 360 console to Microsoft for repair.
This is usually the similar sort of problem to what causes the 3rrod (3 red rings of death) and can be fixed by trying the above or by re-heating the mainboard with a heat gun and this in turn will reseat the solder point. we also fix this error www.fixmyconsole.co.uk
Sections 1, 3, and 4 are flashing red
- General Hardware Failure /
Check the secondary Error Code per the instructions in the section
THINGS TO TRY
Try restarting the console.
If restarting the console does not resolve the behavior,
follow these steps:
Turn the console off.
Unplug all the power and AV cables from the console.
Unplug the power cord from the wall socket.
Firmly reconnect all the cables.
Turn on the console.
If these steps do not resolve the behavior, turn the console
off, remove the hard drive, and then turn on the console. If the 3x Red
LED error light is no longer displayed, turn the console off, re-attach
the hard drive, and then turn on the console.
Also examine the lights on the power supply. When you turn
on the console, the power supply light should illuminate green even if
the three lights on the RoL flash red.
