I left the GPS in the car in very hot weaher. I think I cooked the battery but I do not find a way to get inside to check the status of the battery. After trying to get the GPS turned on so it would charge the battery, the fuse not is burned out.
Wil I have to send the GPS to a repair facility?
Is there a way that I can open up the GPS to replace thebattery?

Re: c330 does not work
I wouldn't suggest opening your unit, the garmin manual says that once the unit is opened your warranty is void. Have you tried resetting the unit? Here is how you do that:
Otherwise you may want to go thorugh this process: STEP 1: Contact Garmin Technical Support to receive an RMA number.
Call or e-mail Garmin Technical Support Specialists to describe the problem you are experiencing and request a Return Material Authorization (RMA) tracking number. You will need to provide the unit's serial number (if applicable), your return shipping address, and a daytime telephone number.
***Aviation Panel Mount or Aviation Remote Mount products require an authorized person to return the aircraft system to service after product repair. Please arrange RMA's through your favorite Authorized Garmin Aviation Service Center.***
Phone: 1-800-800-1020 913-397-8200 Fax: 913-397-0836 E-mail: Tech Support
For Garmin AT products only: Phone: 1-800-525-6726 (U.S.) 1-800-654-3415 (Canada) 503-391-3411 Fax: 503-364-2138 E-mail: Tech Support
STEP 2: Ship the unit, along with the RMA number, to Garmin.
Once you have received the RMA number, securely package the unit and ship it (insured) to the following address:
Garmin International 1200 E. 151st Street RMA Number: (insert your RMA number here - see above) Dock Door #1 Olathe, KS 66062 USA
For Garmin AT products only: Garmin AT, Inc. RMA Number: (insert your RMA number here - see above) 2345 Turner Rd. SE Salem, OR 97302
Or find a local garmin repair center.
Hope this helps:) JasonOtherwise you may want to go thorugh this process:

First, check the car's power receptacle by plugging in another device that definitely works (or take your gps to another car). Cars generally have a fuse associated with the receptacle that can blow. The second most likely problem is that the internal battery inside the c330 has died. This is especially likely if the unit is old (more than 1 year) and if you live in a climate with extreme heat or cold (which reduces battery life). This video shows how to replace the battery:
Thecompanythat
produced the video sells a kit which includes the battery and tools
necessary to replace the battery yourself. See:http://www.newpower99.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=GARMIN+STREETPILOT+C330&Show=ExtInfoI swapped the battery of my brother's dying GPS using the
aforementioned kit and all went well. His Garmin is back up and running
smoothly. Hope this helps.
ONE, RESET IT !!! (See resetting instructions below)
TWO, let the battery die out!
Waking up your c330...
If you left your Garmin c330 on running
the battery will have 1% life left. If you turn c330 back on again, it
will flash screen for 3 seconds then die, even charging it at this
point will not wake it back up. TO BRING IT BACK TO LIFE... plug in the
power home or car into Garmin c330. There is a tab in the front Garmin
gray frame of your screen. You must take like your fingernails and
under the logo "GARMIN" pull the whole gray plastic frame off.
Underneath the plastic frame to the right hand side. There is a "RESET"
button. Make sure power is plugged in while hitting reset. Your battery
should come back to life. Cheers

Your battery inside the GPS is most likely either defective, or has been overcharged, creating an effect where the dry cells inside the battery are swelled and no longer work as they are made to. The only way to fix this is to send the GPS to service and have a new battery installed. to avoid having this happen again, don't leave any device with a rechargeable battery plugged in longer than it needs to be(IE after it has fully charged).
