Says Car Kit on phone but has never had a car kit hooked up to it

My 2 year old loves to play with my phone and I don't know what she did or how she did it but now my phone says car kit on the screen and I when I make or receive a call I can hear them but they can't hear me. I have tried removing the battery for several minutes, restoring default settings and making sure that Bluetooth is turned off (per verizons website) I have also called customer service and been told that I would have to take it in for service which I may or may not have to pay for. PLEASE HELP

    same problem. son spilled milk on phone !! always displays "CAR KIT" , connects, receives calls but cannot hear any sounds coming or going or even key press sounds. displays caller ids ok etc. Tried drying out, no use.

    i got water in/on it and it won't go off of car kit mode for anything i try

A clarification on solution #1: Try pressing the tip of the knife (I used the end of a nail file) onto the lower right hand side of the charger area. That's what got it for me. If that doesn't work, try other parts of the end...

Use a can of compressed air on the data port at the bottom of your phone. It fixed mine in about a second and a half.

MY LG PHONE WAS IN THE CAR KIT MODE AND WAS CORRECTED BY TAKING A THIN KNIFE AND WIGGLING IT AROUND FOR A FEW MINUTES IN THE CHARGER PART WITH THE PHONE ON. sCREEN FLASSED CAR MODE WAS GONE THEN THE PHONE SHUT OFF - I "REBOOTED BY REMOVING THE BATTERY, THEN REPLACING IT INTO THE PHONE - RESTARTED THE PHONE AND CAR KIT MODE WAS GONE. HAD TO DO THIS A FEW TIMES - BECAREFUL NOT TO BEND THE CHARGER TEETH DOWN. I DID - THEN GOT BENT DOWN,I CAREFUL REPOSITION THEM (ADJUST THEM FLAT) SO CHARGE WILL PLUG INTO TEETH. WHILE IT WAS IN THE MODE I COULD NOT HEAR THE PHONE RING OR BUTTON TONES HOWEVER IT WOULD STILL TEXT AND RECIEVE TEXT AND INCOMING CALLS AND MAKE OUTGOING CALLS JUST NOONE COULD HEAR YOU OR ME.IT WORKS NOW !!!!

Firstly i come to your 2nd question where you asked what the meaning of Car Kit. Bro Car Kit means a sound system which contain also blue tooth, DVD, FM etc. So in Car Kit any one can pair their blue tooth devices i mean your cell phone where blue tooth are available. So when you pair your device at the define range then Car Kit will be connected with your phone so when your receive or dial a call then the Car kit speaker will be active automatically. You can hear voice from there.
Now come to your next question,
If your Car is off or you are so far from car then your speaker will be enable normally but if it don't work then means your speaker disable or inactive. As a result, you have to change your speaker by a expert technician then you will release from this problem. Thanks a lot

The parrot car kit varies, there are about 10 different types of the parrot car kit and the connections varies slightly. Just follow these steps to connect ur galaxy phone to the car kit.


For this model of the parrot car kit,after the installation on your car,ensure the car is on

Parrot CK3000:

1. Start the car and ensure the car kit is on.
2. Activate Bluetooth on your phone, and search for Bluetooth devices.
3. Select "Parrot CK" from the list.
4. Enter 1234 on your phone when prompted for a password or code.
5. The Parrot CK3000 will sound a beep when connected to your phone.

Your phone has now been paired with the Car Kit and is ready for use.

For other models of the parrot car kit,repeat step 1 & 2 above and for step 3, u select the model name like "parrot EVOL" for the CK3000 Evolution model.

Car kit
This can mean your charger port is dirty or damaged. Look in the charger port, see if there are any little pins out of place, (Take out battary). and then try pushing them back in place. If that does not work, take it into store and have them check it. I have the blue one I love it, (even though every one else thinks its old) lol If it can't be fixed hopefully the tech can get you info out. The LG phones have been doing this "car kit" thing for many generations of LGs. I wish it was an EZr fix but it usally means something is wrong. Good Luck

Mine said car kit and I kept reading it was because it got wet, and my phone didn't get wet. I noticed a little corrosion where I plug the phone in starting to form and I rubbed a little off and the car kit on the main screen went away.

Car kit mode
Car kit mode is usually caused by debris in the phone's cable connector (at the bottom of the phone). The debris causes two or more contacts to be electrically connected to each other, causing the phone to think it's connected to a car kit. Remove the battery from the phone and clean the cable connector contacts with some rubbing alcohol and the corner of a towel. Also, try using an opened paperclip to scrape the contacts in the connector, this will remove any corrosion that may have built up.

Vx8300 stuck in car kit
I just ran into this problem myself (besides that fucked up white main screen i have). So after reading all these other solutions i played with the thing and found that its one of the right-most pins in the charging port. Probabily a pin touching the metal housing or another pin completes the same electrical circuit used to determine if a car kit is hooked in. I figured this one by shoving a knife through the opening to clear out any debris and every-swipe made the "car kit" banner dissappear. so check for pins touching something it shouldn't. ( i said F-it and ripped that pin out!)

Set to car kit.
I reinserted the wall charger a couple of times and it made the "car kit" go away. My guess is that two pins in the little connector inside the phone somehow got shorted together (dust or something). I saved the butter knife soloution for my last ditch attempt as I wasn't sure that shorting all the pins wouldn't increase the chances of damage to the phone. The post above definitely go the creative juices flowing since we had no idea how it got in "car kit" mode.
