Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-P100 Digital Camera

1 Answer

DSC-P100 always power ON

My DSC-P100 will not switch OFF any more. Every time I switch it OFF if switches ON again immediately. The only chance to get it OFF is to remove the battery. I did a reset already but no change afterwards. Any idea? \Claudius

THIS LOOKS LIKE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH YOUR SWITCH. TAKE THE POWER SUPPLY OUT
AND GIVE THE POWER BUTTON A FEW HARD PUSH .IF THIS DOES NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM THEN THE BUTTON MIGHT HAVE TO BE CHECKED BY A TECH
REGARDS.

My Sony cyber-shot DSC-P100 camera will not shut off. The only way to power-down is to remove the battery. Any suggestions as to how to fix it?

You may have a bad on/off tack switch, from your description the camera functions normally, but you can not shut it down. One possible solution is to get a can of electronic contact spray cleaner for pods, Radio Shack carries in stock, or service shop. If you can access the button directly all the better, if this fails you may need a new tack switch.

MY SONY DSC -P100 DOES NOT WORK BUT THE BATTERY IS CHARGED?

This indicates a systems control board problem, either the control system is defective or it has detected a fault in the camera. But! I would try a fresh battery just to be sure, because they degrade over time.
