R1800 Borderless Printing Problem

Has anyone had a problem with borderless printing on the R1800. My printer leaves a very narrow white band on the trailing edge of the print with no ink. I thought it was the printer after call their Tech Support, but the new printer they sent has the same problem. Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes? Thanks, Tom

Thanks, Inky....your last paragraph was a big help....I pulled out those little tabs on the bottom tray and that seemed to help. I also went to Paper Handling and checked "Scale to Paper Size" and unchecked "scale down only" which eliminated the white banding completely.

I've got my fingers crossed....thanks for your help!

I also have a white band on the trailing edge of borderless 4X6 prints. I also went to Paper Handling and checked "Scale to Paper Size" and unchecked "scale down only" but it has no effect. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Tom, Have you downloaded the latest driver from the Epson web site. Also make sure the output tray is in the correct position and that you are using the correct paper. You can use the following media with this feature: Matte Paper - Heavyweight A3+, A3, A4 Premium Glossy Photo Paper A3+, A3, A4, 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6 in.), 329 mm x 10 m, 210 mm x 10 m (Roll paper) Premium Semigloss Photo Paper A3+, A3, A4, 329 mm x 10 m, 210 mm x 10 m, 100 mm x 8 m (Roll paper) Archival Matte Paper A3+, A3, A4 Watercolor Paper-Radiant White A3+ Velvet Fine Art Paper A3+ Ensure the output tray is in the correct position as if the tray is too low and the paper "falls" down into the tray the weight of the paper could pull the last few millimeters of paper out of the exit rollers, causing the band.

How to do borderless printing with an oki c5300

You cannot do borderless printing with a toner/fuser based unit.
The printer needs a paper grip area and cannot print to the edge due to the fuser.

There is probably a "gutter" setting that is trying to give you a border of sorts. Check the advanced print settings and look for something like gutter and turn it off.

When printing to an Epson R1800 have a problem

Make sure the paper size is not set to US letter sheetfeeder borderless use just US letter. the borderless function slightly enlarges document content to ensure that it bleeds overthe edge. If your has a bleed, use in page setup - US letter sheetfeeder borderless - In the print dialog box click printer button which brings up a warning about using a different settings dialog box, - continue on to the r1800 print dialog box. about midway down is a pull down menu - choose expansion and adjust it to the lowest setting. if your printout does not bleed to the edge bump the expansion adjustment up 1 measure.
