No longer heats water

Today the coffee maker above was turned on. All lights and sounds were normal. However the machine was never ready (lights never stoped blinking). In checking the hot water/steam spigot the water is completely cold. Sounds like the heating element is not working. Is there an easy solution?

How to use coffee maker

This type of coffee maker is made to keep hot water always ready to make another pot.
Pour water in ( at least 4 cups)then turn it on with the pot installed to catch the water. It takes a few minutes to get it hot . You might hear it heating. I can with mine.OK after the heating sound goes away put some coffee in the filter and in stall the filter. Now, fill the pot again (at least 4 cups) and pour the water in and put the pot ready to catch the coffee. It makes the coffee fast because it already heated the water from the first time you poured it in.When finished with the coffee just turn off the burner only. These types are made to stay on 24 hours a day.
I just turn mine off and let it heat up the water in the morning.

The coffee maker is not working. It indicates refill the tank and I did it but still it does not work.

As others have said...just keep reseating the water tank, 20-30 times may be necessary. You will see air bubble come up and until you stop seeing bubbles, keep dropping the tank into place. Eventually it will start to **** water from the tank filling the brewer with about 20oz of water. Wait a couple minutes for the water to heat and it will indicate ready and just select brew cup size. This will work. We just had the same problem today with our first breville coffee brewer and now it works great.

Low water light stays on

If water light and heating lights go on and off, Try this: Fill water, turn water nozzle on, let water flow out. Water light should go off. Shut off water.
If coffee lights are solid, turn off the machine, let it cool off and try the above again.

New to expresso machine - Cuisinart EM100c

This is a very loud machine. Here's the normal operation: You turn it on, and wait a few minutes for it to heat up, at which point the heating light will go off. Then make sure the function knob is turned to coffee, and it will start brewing. At first, it will make a short (loud) sound and then stop for a second. The purpose behind this is that the machine is pre-wetting the coffee, so that steam can more easily shoot through it in a couple of seconds. Then the loud noise will start again and run continuously until you turn the function knob back to the center. So, the sounds you were hearing were normal. There is a delay between when you hear the sounds and the water starts flowing out. If the coffee is pressed down (tamped) too hard, that delay will be longer. Hope this helps. You made a much better choice purchasing this machine rather than the more expensive EM-200, in my opinion.

Bunn coffee maker

It sounds like you have a pour over model and the problem is the tank isn't full. Turn the machine off (or unplug it). Put a pot on the warmer like you are going to brew coffee. Pour clean cold water into the top until it starts coming out the sprayhead (above where the coffee grounds go). Now plug it in and turn on. Let it heat up then you can brew.

The way your machine works is that there is always about 2-1/2 pots of water in the tank. The water you pour in to make coffee is actually pushing the hot water in the tank out. So, if you don't fill the tank before using it, you may be hurting the heating element since it isn't totally submerged in water.

3-Pot coffee Maker instructions

The first time you use the machine you need to make sure it is full of water - before you plug it in and turn it on. Put an empty coffee pot under the brew basket and fill another empty pot with clean cold water.

Pour the water into the coffee maker. If water comes out then you can plug it in and turn it on. The water heating tank holds about 2-1/2 pots of water so if your machine is empty you will need to keep adding water before you turn it on otherwise you may burn up the heating element.

After the green light comes on - indicating that the tank is hot you can brew a pot of coffee. This machine is meant to be left on all of the time so it is always ready to brew. If you choose to turn it off when not in use, you will need to give it about 10 minutes to fully heat up the water before you brew.
