Maytag Performa washer Waterlevel/agitator problem
I will give the best description possible here.
About a week ago my Maytag Performa Clothes Washer
went nuts. I put in the load of laundry and walked away as usual to let it start filliing and what not. Except this time it didn't stop filling. The agitator process never started so I turned it off and put it on spin and it drained the what and spun the clothes just like normal.
And Tried it a couple of times and the same thing the water just fills and never stops and the agitator won't start. But spin works normal.
Any Ideas? I would be very Greatful thanks.

CHECK your stand pipe hasn't fell over (the one the drain hose goes to when emptying)If not,Either the pressure switch is broke or there is a hole or split in the pressure switch rubber hose. This switch stops the water when it reaches required level.

According to Maytag "This 3.9 cu. ft. capacity high-efficiency washer also features the MaxExtract™ option, which spins clothes at up to 1,300 RPM and means less time doing laundry. You get all that and still use 79 percent less water and 76 percent less energy". A cubic foot is the volume of a cube whose sides are all 1 foot long.

I purchased a Maytag Performa washer in 2003 and experienced the same thing. A service call found a loose electrical connection behind the switch panel. The washer has worked fine since.
Hope this helps.
