i already tried batteries doesnt work.

When I try to use camera, the lens extends then retracts to half-way. I have wiped off both ends of the batteries, used new batteries, re-charged and tried my Canon Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. Nothing works. Timing of non-operation was very poor; just as we were cruising through the Panama Canal !. Ah well, I'll probably make that trip again....NOT !

My camera lense is stuck and my camera wont turn on

hi...The transmission system that moves the lens in and out has a problem with it's gears. There is most likely a gear or an actuator that has fallen out of alignment and is getting stuck at a certain point as the lens comes in/out.There is some disturbacnce of the lens arrangement that is preventing the lens from coming in/out.Any of these symptoms above could trigger the camera to shut itself off to protect itself from further damage.

Camera wont take pic

Some combination of repeated on/off cycling, manually holding the lens in upon restart, and a gently rapping the camera against my desk solved the problem for me.

It's my understanding that a speck of dust or dirt gets stuck in the zoom mechanism and the camera needs some "help" to get it cleared.

Lens problem

If you've replaced the batteries with fresh ones, it probably has a broken zoom assembly. It'll have to be replaced by a repair shop.
