Did you have 3 lines before?

What type of phone system do you have? If you do not know what does it look like?

Do you have the password to get into programming? If you do I can help you.

Sounds like there was 3 lines at one time and the 3rd line is now taken out of service, but it is still programmed in the line pool phone system.

My company has an Avaya phone system that uses Partner 18d phones. When you pick out the receiver the phone would go to one of our 4 outside lines, but recently on ext. 10 when you pick up the receiver it...

http://dstech1.com/changing-the-line-that-is-picked-up-when-you-lift-handset/

All releases of Partner
Lets say that you currently pick up line 1 to make an outgoing call, but you want to pick up your last line (in this case we will say we have 6 phone lines).
This feature is called "Auto line select"
To program Auto line select:
From extension 10 or 11:
Press feature 00
LEFT INTERCOM
LEFT INTERCOM
RIGHT INTERCOM
Enter the extension number of the extension you need changed.
press ** (start, star)
Then the order you want the lines to get picked up
Then ** (star, star) when done
When finished, press feature 00 to get out of programming.
So, in this example I would enter my extension number (22) and press ** (star, star) and press line 6, line 5, line 4, line 3, line 2, and line 1. Then I press ** (start, star) to signify that I am done programming Auto Line Select. And feature 00 to get out of programming.
Easy as pie.

How do i call

Hello Tedelen,

Be sure to meet all the requirements of the phone to make calls and to be fully operational. These requirements can be found here (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).

To make a phone call follow these instructions:

Making calls with the Handset
1. Pick up the handset and the phone automatically selects the priority line. If the priority line is occupied, it selects an open line.
OR
Pick up the handset and press a LINE button to select a line.
2. Wait for a dial tone, then dial a phone number.
3. Hang up the handset when finished.

Making Calls with the Speakerphone
1. Press the SPEAKER button and the phone automatically selects the priority line. If the priority line is occupied, it selects an open line.
OR
Press a LINE button to select a line.
2. Wait for a dial tone then dial a phone number.
3. Press SPEAKER button when finished.

If you are having problems refer to the given link to the User Guide.

I have the panasonic handset phone. I have three lines. When I pick up the phone it goes automatically to line 3. If I have a call holding on line 1 from the desk phone how do I get to line 1 on the...

A lot depends on what sytsem the 7896 is plugged into. If it happens to be a TA series, you'll go into station programming mode (menu 99) and dial 11. The change this makes is that you will have to dial "9" to get an outside line, or 53x to pick up lines 1,2,3 etc. To get back to idle line preference, dial 12, but a cordless phone should never be set to ILP because you can't call internally or page.

Our fax machine is receiving faxes but won't send them. It says poor line condition. I've switched the actual line with another & it still says the same thing.

Sounds like you hve "noise" on the phone line you are using. Try plugging a normal phone into the line socket you are using for faxing, then pick up the reciever to make a call. If you hear crackling then the line is noisy and you need your phone service provider to repair the line. If you dont hear crackling try using another line lead.

How do I recieve a fax

This question is pretty vague but I will do my best to answer your question.
  • Make sure the fax is plugged into a working phone jack (cable goes to line port on fax if multiple jacks are on fax machine)
  • Set the mode on the fax to auto (if you want fax to automatically answer fax)
  • Set the mode on the fax to manual (if you want to manually tell the fax to pick up the line)
  • Set the mode on the fax to A.M. (if you are using an answer machine, you will need to reference your operators manual for this as each manufacturer uses different settings)
After doing this call you fax line with your cell phone and see if your fax rings then answers (for auto).

Tv will not pick up 720 and hold, reverts back to 480, why?

480/720/1080 is a function of the XBOX not the TV. The TV cannot change the resolution. The resolution indication that shows on the TV is only what it is recieving, not what it is showing, You need to check the XBox or whatever you are using.
The Green Line on the other hand is a defect and if the TV is in warranty you should make them fix it!!! That is unless this green line only appears with a single source....it should show ALL the time.
