1. Restart the Acer Aspire netbook by pressing the "power" button on the netbook's keyboard or by pressing the "CTRL," "ALT" and "DEL" keys at the same time.
2. During startup, hold down the "F8" function key immediately when you see the "Acer" splash screen and the option for entering "Setup."

3. Keep pressing the "F8" key until the "Advanced Boot Options" menu appears.
If you receive a "keyboard error," restart the Acer Aspire and repeat step 2.

4. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Safe Mode" selection on the "Advanced Boot Options" menu.
The arrow keys are located on the right-hand side of the Acer Aspire keyboard.

5. Press the "Enter" key to execute the "Safe Mode" selection.
The Windows operating system will now start in "Safe Mode" and you can perform a system restore or make needed changes to get your Acer Aspire to boot normally again.

You are still in warranty, so call Aspire at (800) 816-2237 for live help. If the "helper" doesn't address your problem, or just tells you just tells you to reinstall everything, demand to speak to a supervisor. It's their problem, not yours. They are open until 5:30 PM CST

How do I create disc for Acer aspire 5560 notebook they recovery disc

hi
How to reinstall the Operating system on your computer

Select models, with Microsoft Windows, have the ability to have the Operating System reinstalled from a hidden partition built into the computer.
Note: During the process, all data stored on your computer will be overwritten. This means all your files, such as email and photos, will be erased. Therefore, we recommend making a backup of all personal data before starting the recovery process.
To start the system recovery:
1.Restart the computer.
2.When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the Alt and F10 keys repeatedly.
3.If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the Enter key.
4.After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available or fails, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Recovery Media. If you do not have a set of Acer Recovery Media, you may purchase the set online from the Acer Recovery Media Order Form..
Note: If your computer does not have an internal optical disc drive, an external optical disc drive will be required in order to recover the Operating System using Acer Recovery Media.
1.Restart the computer.
2.When the Acer logo appears on the screen, press the F12 key repeatedly to enter the computer's Boot Menu.
3.Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the disc labeled System CD.
4.Close the CD-ROM tray.
5.Refer to on screen instructions to select either CDROM or USB CDROM.
6.The computer will boot from the Acer Recovery Media
7.When prompted for the Recovery CD, remove the System CD and insert the Recovery CD.

Note: If there are multiple Recovery CDs, please insert the first of the Recovery CDs.

8.After the system recovery application has loaded, follow the prompts to reinstall the Operating System.
Note: if your computer is unable to run the Acer Recovery process, or errors occur during recovery, please contact Acer support.

Acer 5334 stuck on e recovery management screen

By stuck do you mean that each time you boot the computer it goes to this screen? If this is the case then unfortunately this means something has happened to the installation of your operating system on your hard drive and in order to get Windows to load, you will need to perform this recovery. This could be caused by any sort of damage to the partition that the OS installation is on which could be caused by hard drive failure, corrupted data or physical disk damage.

I hope this helps.

I have installed Windows 7 to my Acer Aspire One AOD255 but i want to revert it back to Windows XP and I no longer have the Windows.old folder. How can i downgrade it back?

If it originally came with Windows XP and it has the recovery partition still untouched (assuming the disk hadn't been formated to only one partition), you might recover the system from the hidden recovery partition.

To initiate this process, switch on the laptop and press F10 when the ACER logo appears (some computers need you to press ALT and F10 together, instead of the F10 only. If the Acer Recovery Management starts, you just have to follow the instructions to recover your system.

If nothing happens after pressing F10 or ALT and F10, you will need to get a Windows XP installation CD and a external CD drive to reinstall the whole system.

In this case, first you have to enter setup by pressing F2 at boot time, as soon as the ACER logo appears in the screen. Then, you will need to switch the SATA Mode to IDE from AHCI.

Select: Main -> SATA Mode -> IDE

This is done to allow Window XP to see your SATA.as an IDE disk and install the system.

When you get the external USB CD/DVD driver to use with a Windows XP installer CD, connect it to you laptop, switch it on and press F2 again to enter Setup.

This time, scroll over to the BOOT menu and press Enter. Scroll down to the last option USB CD- Rom and then use the F5 key to move it to the top of the boot list order. Then press Escape and then F10 and finally Enter. The computer will restart and load the CD and you can start the installation of Windows XP.

Hope this info may help you!

How to activate my IBM recovery system F11?

Usually you have to have the recovery CD in the cd drive. In regualr Desktop machines, hitting F11 will go into the boot options menu allowing you to choose from booting to a network, through USB or CD drive or floppy.

On your laptop it may be set to load from cd but with no cd, no boot.

If its freezing alot you may be having a heating problem. If you suspect a Hard drive problem, run a disk check by double clicking " My computer" , right click on C:/ drive and click " properties" open the " Tools" tab and go to disk check and select all the options. It will say that it will do it on system restart. Do this and see if any errors come up.
