Lost manual - it won't turn on

IPod touch 8GB:  lost manual - it won't turn on.  I don't even know how to get inside to replace a battery (if that is what is needed).

  • Anonymous Mar 19, 2009

    Thanks, but it's fully charged.

Because I charged it, turned it off for a few minutes, then tried turning it on.  No go.

I have actually found the solution to my problem.  I needed to hold in both the turn on button on the face of the iPod and the turn off button on the top edge -- both at the same time for 10 seconds or more. That is how you reset it according to the person at the Apple Store where I checked later.

    Thanks for trying to help.

Do you still have your USB cable to connect it to a PC? Or power adapter to connect it to the wall?

If not, you can probably find one on EBay or some other such site.

It probably just needs to be charged. If you can get a USB cable for it, it will charge from most PCs without the need to install any software.

Speakers not working

Try restoring the ipod or cleaning the ipod jack first. Usually it is caused by the dirt accumulated inside the jack. The ipod thinks there is a headphone inserted even when there is none.

My ipod cant be turned on even if i charged it. i try another connector and charger but still it cant be turn on

i lost an iPod this way as well
What happens is sometimes the battery can go so low
to the point the ipod does not have inof charge
to charge it back up, thus resulting in a dead/drained out
battery
Replacing it can be done but its a very delicate
procedure
that takes experience, therefore it may be best
to move on

IPod Touch got wet and the battery won't charge

Sorry, that will not help. When I look at water damaged iPod, 99% of the time something inside has been shorted out and has to be replaced to fix it (that is if the other parts are still working okay). From what you are describing about it not having power on its own, it sounds like the logic board inside was fried. This part can be replaced, but it would be about the same price to fix as it would be to buy a new 8GB 2nd Gen.

Won't turn on

i would buy a new a/c charger and charge your ipod for a full charge.
Then see if it works for you.
Sounds like the battery isn't getting charged
