I had simalar problems where I could not detect my wireless network even though I could get on the internet I could not see the other computer on my network. I finally after trying everyone else's advice which did not work, found a program called Network Magic. You can purchase it from www.purenetworks.com for $30.00. It took care of all of my network problems and even shows a nice map of how my network is setup and what computers are logged onto the network and even what software like Windows Xp or Windows Vista is on that computer. It will even generate daily logs if you want to show any problems with the network.

SOURCE: My Compaq Presario V6211AU laptop does not dectect

you need to check your drivers. after seeing the magic word Format that is the first thing to look at.

Open system properties - control panel / Performance & maintance / system

Select Hardware tab at top
select device manager

look for any entries that are highlighted
right click on highlighted entry and select update driver
(allow internet access if asked)
do this for all entries highlighted
REBOOT
you should now be ready to rock... :-)

Compaq Presario F700 Windows Vista Home Premium My Network Card has stopped detecting wireless connections and tells me there is no network adapter installed. It was working then stopped several days...

If you can use the cable connection
you can search for a new driver for the lan card for vista here:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/pfinder?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&tool=&query=F700+#N284

Try using the auto detect function it will tell what model
you have.To get the right driver.

Also try use the microsoft update function
in your start button.

Hope this was helpfull.

Error Message: 104-Unsupported wireless network device detected. System Halted. Remove device and restart.

And when you did that, did the system then work? If it did you may have a faulty WiFi card or an incompatible driver.

I am not on my compaq now, but my problem is that i cannot connect to the internet because the compaq can't seem to connect to the linksys network that all the other laptops are connected to. this happened...

This could be due to corrupt wireless drivers or corrupt BIOS settings. To isolate this, uninstall and reinstall the wireless drivers on the notebook. If issue persists, then update BIOS and check for the issue. Incase, if the issue is unresolved, then check if the Wireless network adapter is detected in Device Manager or not.

If it is not detected, then remove and reseat the wireless network card on the notebook. Incase, if the issue is unresolved, it clearly states that the wireless card on the notebook has gone bad. At this point, I would suggest you to take the notebook to any nearest Authorized Service Center in your location.

My hp laptop cannot detect network after it was formatted.

you will need to find out what wireless network card you have installed ( make and model ) and then go to the manufacturers website and download the relevant windows vista driver which will need installing or install the drivers from the installation disc for your laptop.

If you have the wireless modem device on your laptop, then your laptop should be automatically detecting your wireless modem. If not, locate where your wireless card is at, if it is an internal one ( you can do this by reviewing your computer's manual). Once you find it, take it out and then wait 20 to 30 seconds, and then reinsert it and make sure that it is connected to all it needs to be securely. Make sure your laptop is off before doing this. Then turn your laptop back on and see if it can detect it. Also, and you can try this Before you take it out and reinsert it, you can go to your computer's control panel and find the Add Hardware option, Try to use this option and automatically detect your hardware. You cna also do a system restore before you try the connect and reconnect suggestion that I had previously mentioned. I hope one of these suggestions helped. If not, then contact your computer manufacturer.

WLAN Driver

Get new drivers for the lan card from the lan cards web site...its not the XP OS problem...it is a problem with the drivers for the card...the one that XP is assigning to it is not an exact match.
