Have a Sharp FO 3350 plain paper laser fax.
Unit started to print very lightly on right side of page, in either Fax or Copy mode (suggests problem is in image / toner drum).
Past experience with laser printers told me to remove the toner drum and shake it to re-distribute the toner.
Tried that, but it did not help.
Next most common cause was a dirty "charge wire". Have not been able to find any charge wire on this unit!
Tried replacing the image / toner drum, but that did not help.
Contacted Sharp via email. They were not helpful (said just take it in for service). Ask about a repair manual, but was told they have none available on-line, or for the general public!
With this type of "Customer Service", I will never buy another Sharp product of any type!!!!
Just hate to have to pay someone to clean a simple charge wire, which I have done dozens of times myself.
Can anyone tell me how to solve this printing problem?
While I appreciate the prompt reply, and the lead on the service manual, the reply does not help me directly solve my problem.
I am looking for someone who has experienced a similar problem, on this fax unit, and can explain how they corrected it.While I appreciate the prompt reply, and the lead on the service manual, the reply does not help me directly solve my problem.

Under protest, but lacking any other replies to my help request, I bought the manual you suggested.
Sorry to report that it fails to mention this printing problem.
Did find out that there is no "charge wire" in this unit. That narrows down the problem to possible dirt on the laser optical system (sealed).

The local repair center is listed as a camera repair company. Looked them up on the web (they do have a web site) but the web site was totally useless, not even an email address. Does not even say what brands they service! Does not mention repairing business machines! Their web site did however list an address.
The address was not too far away, so on another trip in that part of town, I decided to drop in to talk with them first. Guess what? The building number just does not exist! Talked to businesses on either side of the street number, and they never heard of this company.
They do have a listed phone number, but I have been too busy to follow up recently. It may be a few weeks before I have time to persue this further. Sorry couldn't find a free one. There are others with the manual also but all more expensive (up to $45).
If you need any help with any of the procedures in there, please ask again - I think you are right about the charge wire.
Hope this helps :)

Shake your toner then press LIFE 2 START. If the problem persist replace your toner then press LIFE 2 START. Your life button is located under the page plate(flip it over).
I'm more familiar with HP printers, but it sounds like a fuser is bad. The fuser effects print quality as well. If you've replaced the toner, as you have.
Make a copies with something with a lot of print. open top cover when the paper is 1/2 way through the machine. pull out the toner & drum unit's look at the drum is there a full image on the drum but not on the paper then it is a transfer problum. If no image on the drum then we have a laser unit problum. There is a shutter that opens when you put the drum in & closes the top cover. it may fallin out of place. hard to git at or somthing is blocking the laser beam ( paper, dust bunnyies or fourn objest ) hope this helps let me Know

You have memory lock up. to ram clear the machine we need to clear out all memory. ( like it came out if the box )
1. have machine turned on

3. press start
4. press the # key till memory clear
5. press start !( will clear out all memory )
it should print out a memory clear report
6 press stop key 2 times now lets se how it worked

good luck
Check and see if your fax has a power save button next to your LCD screen. Pressing it will store everything into memory or you could do a flash memory clear however you will lose everything that is stored in memory(RX and TX only). Press FUNCTION , 9,*,8,#,7 then press start, next press your # key to scroll to flash memory. Press start. This should fix it.
