Question about Nintendo DS Console
First remove the new case and see what you get - if it all works fine then the case must be pinching a cable or pressing on something it shouldn't. Check the unit with AC only or battery power only. The faint click is probably the power switch membrane clicking across - probably indicating that the switch itself is fine - but check at least visually and with a meter if you can. the most likely causes of the problem if removing the case again does not get it working are; Loose connector - probably where the screen hinge is, or where those cables connect to -check anything that you could have moved. Is it an official original case? some cheap copies may be badly fitting, although I found no info on any problem like this so far. If you have a card inserted, try with a different one or without one. check nothing got in the card slot and no pins are bent - especially if you just put a card back in after replacing the case. Especially could be problem if your DS was set in Auto start-up mode before. Possibly unconnected to the case change, the power supply or battery could have failed. Check through this link and see if it helps identify if that is the problem. Do you get any power or charging lights? http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/ds/trouble_power.jsp nintendo do not recommend it, but it may be worth removing and reinstalling the battery in order to reset the unit. proceed with care. Here is the link to the manual if you need it; http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/downloads/ds_english.pdf Hope this helps - please post back with more details :)

I checked all the connections and found that I had to push the ribbon cable from the top screen further into the connector on the mother board.
Now it will power up OK but the two screens come on white and stay that way occasionately there are some colored vertical stripes on both screens but otherwise no picture at all.
The sound and touchscreen are working and you can actually load up a game if you know the right places to touch on the screen, it's just not giving any picture. have you got any ideas.
wont turn on it makes a flicking noise when i turn it on
