My SoundMax driver does not install every other time I reboot. This is MS XP on a Lenovo Thinpad. I have had problems with the laptop but this one happens every day! Rebooting always gets it back to working; then it will dispappear again for no reason. Reboot & it won't work; reboot, then it works. I have no solution yet.

Sound is not working

The below should solve the problem
1. Downloaded the latest driver from support.dell.com from the Downloads and Drivers section.2. Uninstall the Driver from either the Control Panel (Sound Max) or by going to the Device Manager and rightclicking the driver and Uninstall.3. Restart the Computer.4. Install the Driver downloaded.
If the above does not work
a) Faulty hardware is not allowing driver to be installed and sound to come out.b) Corruption in Windows, that would require a new reformat of PC.
