Question about Motorola Mobility RAZR V3

1 Answer

Motorola razr Keypad unresponsive with the exception of the power button. Knowing that a common problem is poor connection of flexi-connectors, took phone apart, cleaned and reconnected. Repeated this about a dozen or so times with the same result: Either keypad OR display working, never both at once.

Sounds like bloken flex / keypad module (mine did the same, all keys dead except power, fixed it with a 5 dollar new module and some hours of puzzling to get it installed.. (I just posted a guide on motox on how to do it.. http://www.motox.info/showthread.php?t=51009 (I hope urls are allowed)

Hi, my Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic touch screen has become totally unresponsive. It has frozen on the screen with the message: "Continue using phone in offline mode?" Lyn

Hello,

The reason your phones touch screen is not working is simply because there is a problem with the flexi of the phone.

If the screen is not damaged in any way, then the assumption of it being the screen is absolutely correct.

To fix the flexi of the phone;

1. Get the appropriate screwdriver,
2. remove the battery, the battery cover, and your sim,
3. Turn the back of the phone,
4. you will see five rubbers,
5. pick them off with a pincher, you will see screws under them, unscrew the phone,
6. Get a credit card and slip it through the line around the phone then apply a little force in separating them apart,
7. you will see the panel of the phone, carefully lift it up,
8. you will see a flexi that runs through the screen to the panel, carefully detach the flexi from the panel,
9. unscrew the screen of the phone, remove the flexi connected to the screen also and replace it.
10. Reverse the process to reassemble the phone.

Take care in solving the problem....

Send (green button)has become unresponsive.

This problem is not very common with Motorola RAZR.

If other buttons are working except for the send button, then I think that this is a hardware-related problem. Unfortunately, we cannot easily take the keypad off the Motorola phones because it's a bit different from other phones.

I would suggest to bring the phone to the authorized repair shop and have them repair it for you. I'm sure that it's not caused by software or any other problems, but it's a hardware problem.

Thank you and good luck!

Kenmore microwave - unresponsive keypad

Repaired the unresponsive keypad on my older Kenmore (model 721.68100): Unplug. Remove integral cover for top and sides which is held in place by 5 metal screws. The cover then slides toward the rear. Unplug two connectors to back of keypad and clean them (I used contact spray cleaner). Some of the components retain a charge even when unplugged.

This is a common problem, it has to do with the keypad flex. either the connector on the top part of your phone is unpluged or your flex is damaged. Open the top of the phone where the screen is at (4 torx screws) genlty remove the cover. you will see two connectors, one that goes to the camera, the other is the one you want. genlty pry it off upwards, I would also clean it with some IPA (rubbing alcohol) and a brush, re-connect it pushing down firmly, you will fill it when it connects. if it doesnt work, you can purchase a new flex, if you need repair help, let me know I can try to repair
