Question about Jenn-Air 24 in. JDB8910 Built-in Dishwasher
My Jenn-air dishwasher model #JD8910AWS won't drain. The motor recently burn and I replaced it and now it will star the wash cycle but when it tries to drain the motor will only start and stop over and over. I assume this is why the original motor burnt. Have you any idea what this problem is? Thanks George
I was having the following symptoms: If I hit the drain button, it would stay at 2 minutes and just click on and off. If I hit the rinse button, it would rinse all 9 minutes OK. It would always stick in the middle of a full cycle and just start clicking.
I just fixed it. I shut off the circuit breaker, opened the door up (all torx screws from inside of door) to get the the upper controls. One lead (of two) of a capacitor (square blue component) had actually worked itself out of the control board. I cleaned it up and resoldered it in. All better now - for now.

Since you already replaced the motor, it sound like a pump issue. The pump is attached to the motor and forces the water up into the sprayer arms and during the drain cycle, it pushes the water out of the dishwasher. Look if the pump's impeller (a round plastic fan blade-type of device) spins around. In case it doesn't spin, look if it doesn't blocked or stuck from any other reason. Good luck!

When I replaced the motor the new one came with a new impeller and pump assembly. As far as I can see everything is clear.Im assuming the the motor cycling on and off burnt the original motor.Could it be in the electronic's in the door? or would there be a sense of some sort that would be defective that would do this?
Thanks
George
