Speakers Shot? We have an LG 32" LCD TV.  My husband turned up the sound to hear the TV and now the speaker sound as if they are blown.  Shouldn't a TV be able to turn up to the highest volume set by the manufactor?  Is there anything I can do besides hooking up new speakers or calling for service to replace the speaker?

Technically, the television should protect itself from doing any damage, but sometimes that doesn't happen correctly.
When you say that they sound like the speakers are blown, can you describe that sound?
If it sounds like they're blown, they likely are.  It's probably about the same cost to repair the speakers (if out of warranty), than to buy an external amp and speakers.

In that case, it's probably not a completely blow speaker set, just one of the woofers (that does low end dialog)

You may be able to adjust your audio settings and turn the bass down a bit, and that might make it more watchable.

If not, it's not a very expensive repair to fix the woofer in a television.

Whistling when TV is switched on. LG LCD 32''

If the sound is coming from the back of the TV, then the issue is with the power supply and may get worse causing the TV not to power on.

If the sound is coming from the speakers, then the issue may be with the main board, an audio hookup to the TV, and or a bad ground loop with the TV and the connections to it.

The audio on my 42" lg tv has gone 'tinny'

Well you can simply test this by hooking up a speaker to it when you have it opened up. Or use a multi volt meter if you get less the 5v when its turned all the way up then its the amp in your tv that has blown out on you. Now its rare for just a speaker to blow in these you still will hear soem noise even if you had one going out on you. If the sound went out and its not muted and you never heard strange noises before chances are its the amp in the tv. or the tv has been muted.

please be considerate when rating me I have not seen your tv so it hard to pinpoint what the actual issue is, But please do rate the solutions and leave feedback if you will for me today, Thanks.

No sound at all on my LG 32LC56 TV?

Try hooking up the powered PC speakers to the Audio Line out RCA jacks to see if you can get the sound there, if you do, then the power amps can be bad or the speakers are turn off in the on screen audio setup menu. If you do not get the sound at the RCA jacks, then the problem can be in the sound processor in the main controller board.

I plug in headphones, but sound still comes out of TV speakers

This information was found on the Dynex website: (http://www.dynexproducts.com/pc-680-23-dynex-32-720p-flat-panel-lcd-hdtv-matte-black.aspx) in the frequently asked question section on page 7. If the solution below dos not work for you. You can either go to the website by copying the web address and putting it in your address bar. Once there you can use the e-mail function to talk to customer support. You can also use the Dynex customer support telephone number 1-800-305-2204 between the hours of 7am and 12 am CST. Give them the model number of your television and the problem you are having with the use of the headphones. I hope this information helps you solve your problem. How do I get headphones to work with my TV? o Connect the headphone cable to the headphone jack on the side of your TV. o The sound will be heard through both the headphones and on the TV speakers. o Press Mute to hear sound only through the headphones. o Use the volume buttons on the remote to adjust the volume level. o You must remember to press mute again to hear sound through speakers. It will not automatically come on when you unplug the headphones.

Vibrates when shound turned up, tried different sound modes, it is the bass that is a problem deep voices etc

Rattling speakers on a LG TV is fixed by placing a small square rubber between the speakers and the chassis.

Of course the speakers will need to be replaced too

Lg 47 inch tv sound

We had the same problem of pathetic sound quality and volume with a sony brava. Thats just the way they make tv's these days because most people buy a surround sound system as well. We bought logitec computer surround sound speakers for about $140 and plugged into the ear jack, problem solved, we have heaps of volume and stacks of bass.
