Hi, You may also want to check the Vertical IC. In some units I've worked on, failure or cold solder in the vertical IC triggers protection. Good luck and cheers.

Short circuit protection. The power supply regulator section to your TV is working properly, but after the power supply starts on, it detects a short circuit, by any of the main board section circuit. Your TV need a thorough checkup. Contact any service technician. This is not a user repairable fault. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

MITSUBISHI WT-A42 ERROR CODE 22 "SHORT PROTECT CIRCUIT"

error code 22 is a short protect circuit. this means the tv has found a problem in the tv and will not let it turn on till fixed. this could be several different circuits in the tv that is causing this. we need to test some parts to see what this is. the most common is a shorted convergence circuit. a repair on this would range around 400.00. You should check using a multimeter and also you should be good at soldering

PS:I strongly advice if you don't have experience in electronics then better leave this job to a tech

How to Fix X-Ray Protection Circuit

Some x-ray protection circuits would get voltage reference from the horizontal output. When a malfunction cause it to produce higher voltage, the circuit will shut it down. Look at the schematic carefully, and try to analize how the x-ray protection works. You can email me the section of the schematic that has the x-ray protection circuit, and I can help you better on solving the problem. I have worked on TV for several years, but I don't remember every model. My email is [email protected]

Projection TV keeps shutting off

Good Day, checho3435;

Try this to help to narrow it down:

This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. SELF- DIAGNOSIS INDICATE X-RAY. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC5A03 PART # 270P704010 AND AN OPEN R5A73 82K ¼ WATT OFF PIN 2 OF IC5A02 ON THE MAIN PCB. 2. SELF DIAGNOSIS ERROR INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR OPEN FUSES F9A04 AND F9A05 PART # 283P043090 ON THE +24 AND -24 VOLT LINES. IF THE FUSES ARE OPEN THE CONVERGENCE OUTPUT CIRCUIT WOULD BE SUSPECT. 3. SELF-DIAGNOSIS INDICATES SHORT PROTECT. CHECK FOR A SHORTED IC4B01 PART # 270P261020 (VERTICAL OUTPUT) LOADING 24-VOLT SUPPLY LINE. LOCATED ON THE MAIN PCB. Good Day, big IRISH. back.gif

Unit shuts off automatically after power on.

You have an internal short in the electrical line. your wall a/c [120 volts] goes inside and is converted [changed] to DC [ like a super battery] There are a lot of connections coming out of this POWER SUPPLY[super battery] to FEED other electrical circuit. ANY one of the circuits can demand more then power supply can give and will cause it to SHUT DOWN [turn off to protect itself]
unless u know what u are doing [" DANGER!! wILL rOBINSON, DANGER!!] you should not mess with it.

JVC AV-36F802 Shuts off after turning on, then red timer on light flashes.

You are describing Vertical sweep failure.
It will be an I.C. with a part number that probably starts with an LA_ _ _ _ and be on a heat sink in the vicinity of the connector going up to the yoke. Try replacing that. But first, check all the electrolytic caps around it for testing dry (sorry - takes a special meter to do it in circuit) or just replace them. May have lost power to the I.C. as well. Look the I.C. up in the free NTE cross reference at nteinc.com Get a diagram of its pinout to find what pins the power and outputs are on.
Hope ya fix it!

Big screen tv repair

There is a short in this TV set somewhere. The TV set is trying to come on but because of the short, the power supply shuts down. No if it is not the over current shutdown, it could also be the main power supply with an over voltage shutdown protection mode. These are solid state TV sets and should only be worked on by trained techs. Good Luck
