Hi
I find with most digital camera to use re-chargeable batteries as most common batteries will only last a few seconds - minutes at the most. Once I changed mine to re-chargeable batteries I have had no problems:)
Good Luck.

I have a Pentax K10D from the time they were first sold. I have not installed any firmware as not very technically talented. Have recently bought a Sigma 120-400 zoom.( no zooms of this range from...

Only Pentax DA and FA J lenses and D FA/FA/F/A lenses having an "A" position on the aperture ring can be used with this camera.

The lens you have is HSM DG

Menu button is not working

My Optio E30 was not zooming because the small ribbon cable from the button strip was dirty/oxidized. All of the back panel buttons are on the same button strip. I needed to open the camera and remove the ribbon from the connector and gently clean the ribbon cable contacts with 600 grit sand paper. It now zooms perfectly.

I have an old Pantax 35mm SLR camera (zx5). Would the lenses still fit the new bodies or do I need to purchase an entire new kit?

Nope! Your old Pentax (and Taukimar!) lenses will still work. Any type of "K-Mount" lens will work on a Pentax digital.

Can Film Camera lenses and Flash be used for Digital Camera Body

If u used to have a Pentax camera, i would recommend you buying a Pentax DSLR, because Pentax film lenses still works on Pentax DSLR. I still use some of my prime lenses on my K10D.

Cannon zoom sd870

hi have you tried removing the battery for couple of hours so it can reset any settings that need to be set back to default it only resets camera memory not settings you have changed but this can sometimes solve the problem your having.

Also when you switch camera on and then press zoom when the camera switches off does the lense go back inside the camera as normal or does it reamin out.

when you switch in on do all the other buttons work like can you take picture and can you access all the menu if you can then take it off auto if its on auto then see if this let you use zoom if not then the chances are their is a fault on the zoom button either jammed could be that the lense motor has come out of line with zoom button, is the display clear when you go to take picture without adjusting the zoom is it still possible to take pictures

The Power Zoom appears to be locked at 80mm.

(I just cut-n-pasted the comment into the solution so this shows up as a solved problem in searches.)

"I've found the solution!
Just goes to show that sometimes it's worth simply calling the importer's service department, who told me in 30 seconds!!
Hold the zoom twist-ring and push, or click it up or down, depending on which way you are holding the lens.
So simple; I even accused him of not knowing what he was talking about.. and of course apologised profusely when it suddenly happened."
