Re: My music folder is gone
To reset the player hold in the power button for at least 20 seconds, when you release the button the player should restart on it's own. If it does not then try again holding the power button for a little longer.
If for some reason the player becomes unstable and resetting doesn?t resolve the issue, then try the Sansa Connect Recovery Tool which will clean up your player and restore it to factory settings.

Connect to your computer
copy music to a folder and save as whatever name you give it Then
format Check the folder with the music in it to see if there is a file thats not MP3 delete it if there is one then replace the musicto the sansa keep about 6MB of free space
The player needs free memory to build its database for playlists to playback.
To free memory on your player:
1. Connect to a computer
2. Save a backup of (preferred all) songs to a location on the computer
3. Delete some files off the player to free at least 30 MB memory in the Sansa Clip
Same problem delete a couple of songs up to 6 mg or 10 whatever then allow to refresh then download your songs back in the music file. the sansa needs some memory to know it has the sdcard in it...
Go to my computer scroll to sansa and open the media folder and open each sub folder and delete manually then delete the folders themselfs then format a couple of times hope this works Start over put new songs on it
You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.
- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.
Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.
'Refresh Database' doesn't mean everything is erased. It only means it's writing the progress that you made, onto the computer. It stays on 'Refresh Database' for about maybe 5-10 minutes. It refreshes its database every time you disconnect your MP3 player from the computer. What it does when you disconnect it from the computer is it saves any unsaved changes made to it and overwrites the memory or data.
Thats probably the best idea to erase everything and start anew.
You can format the device in My Computer>Device Name (e250)>Right Click on it and select Format.
This will erase everything on your device.
If you are getting Bad Track from just a few songs, just delete them as they may be corrupt.
Also, you need to keep some free space on the device to create the database. Keep at least 6MB free for every GB.

The symptoms you described may be due to corruptions in the player's music database (this player maintains an information pool on the music files you download to it). To resolve that, you would need to delete that database and let the player re-create a new one.
To delete the corrupted database, let's do this:
Switch your player to MSC mode
Browse the player in "Windows Explorer", and look for the folder named "System" and/or "Data".
Note: if you can't locate these folders, your Explorer may be configured to "Hide" system files and folders. To change that, please go to "Tools" on the menu list on the Explorer window, then choose "Folder Options". This will display a Window arranged in tabs. Select the "View" tab, find the "Hidden Files and Folders", then choose the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" radio button
Under the "system" or "data" folder on the Sansa E260, look for this file and delete it:
Safely remove your Sansa E260. Then power it on.
Your player will now either display "Rebuilding Library. Please Wait" or "Finalizing Update". Either way, it would re-build the database and hopefully resolve the error your player is encountering.
