Panasonic PT-51HX41 yoke adjustments

Does anyone know skinny on adjusting CRT yoke to get outer convergence squared away. I have already replaced STK's and all out of specification resistors. Red acts funky when attempting size adjustments as well as linear movement. Please advise if can help me out!!

Go back and check them resistors....with a magnifier and be sure of the color codes...I bet one is way off. and get the manual out confirm each resistor u replaced and even remeasure it. dont mess with yokes or nothing on them tubes! its on the board....check for solder splash too on bottom or shorted pins on stks. if you must just make a big x on screen from corner to corner now cover red and blue tubes. the green should be in center of the x if not move the adjusting 2 magnets near yoke to center it it will have tabs sticking out u might have to move both. after you center adjust red and blue to green. good luck

Green color projection is lifting from the bottom left corner of the screen. Convergence adjustment for the green projection is unresponsive

Howdy,

The TV has a convergence problem; the IC’s for that circuit will need to be replaced. The cost for this repair runs around $450.00 or more.

Replace the defective Convergence Output IC Part Number (STK392-110. When Convergence Output failure is
detected, it’s recommended that both IC’s be changed.

Thanks for choosing FixYA, Big Irish.

Replace IC Convergance chip in Panasonic PT-56HX41PF

Enter the tip of a pointed knife between the left side edges of the connector (circled in black in the attached pic) and gently tilt the knife away from the connector. Do the same on the right side. The connector should pop up.

Phillips 60in projection,rred/greenish 3d effect

the two resistors were likely burnt out with a convergence IC (chip). these are usually a stk392-120 on a philips, or simmilar. the alignments can be very tedious and difficult. what needs to be done is replace the ICs that control the colors that are mis-aligned. you might see that the green is square and straight, but the red or blue is off. in most cases, i would just change both convergence ICs plus the bad resistors. then go to your full re-alignment of convergence to fix the picture. hopefully the previous owner didn't mess anything up too much (if they changed anything on the CRTs ie yokes, lens focus, centering magnets it could counteract your electronic adjusments). before you put too much time into it, look to see that all 3 colors are atleast focused and it appears that the CRTs have been left untouched. once you get circuit repaired, you will probably want a service manual to help with alignment. this complexity may bring you to want to just pay for this repair, could run you anywhere from $200-400 depending on severity and local rates.

Adjusting CRT yoke for convergence

You shold not have to move the yoke. if the set will not adjust, find the problem in the convergence. It is probably an IC starting to fail. Good Luck

Course and fine Convergence adjustments

You don't need to raplace all the resisters! Only the bad ones. Remove one lead of each fusible resister out in front of the STK's & check for the ohmage by their color band. You will find the bad one or two resisters causing your problem.

Convergence adjustments

did you use the proper STK IC's Do the replacement IC's have SANYO on the face of them? If they do not, this could be your problem. You must use the IC that the manufacturer recommends. All IC's are not alike. Go to MCM electronics and enter your IC number and they sell original SANYO IC's. Good Luck
