My parents bought me a used sidekick 3 for christmas. it says when u first turn it on u should register. it wont let me register for anything and so my username is ghsim. how do i get it to let me register?
You need to call T Mobile and ask to be transferred to the Sidekick department where they need to speak directly to YOU to register it. Have your parents nearby so that they can allow you access to the account seeing as they probably are the account holders. Good Luck, my brother had the same issue! Merry late christmas!

I would call tmobile. If you are not a tmobile user than I would have your friend do it or someone with tmobile. They should help you out. Well atleast that is what the manual says.
Oooh, bad news. You probably got a sidekick 3 that had a bad charging port. Return for a refund if you can.
the Sidekick 3 has a charging issue thatcrops

is if the orange light comes on but the phone never charges.
You
can get an external battery charger for the sidekick for about 25
dollars that will allow you to charge the sidekick 3 battery separate.

Is it a sidekick ID? If you bought if from t-mobile and it hasn't got wet or been dropped then call T-mobile CC. IT should still be under warranty. Do you have a friend that has a sidekick 3 or a sidekick ID that you can try the battery from(they are the same) What type of charging cradle, one witht the spare battery charging slot? Let me know....
If you can, try a friends battery, either from a sidekick ID or sidekick 3. The Sidekick ID seems to be having the same issue as the sidekick 3 whefre the charging port goes bad. The best worka round for that is to get a charginfg cradel that has a spare battery slot.
Sounds like you unit is not charging. The Sidekicks are notorious for that. If you have a friend that has a sidekick ID or Sidekick 3, see if you can try their battery to make sure you phone is working.
If not, your best option is to get an external charger that has a spare battery slot That way you can charge the battery outside the phone! They run about 25-30 dollars on ebay and since you have an extra battery you can have one charging all of the time!
Downloading songs(mp3) to your sidekick is very simple. Connect the phone to your PC or insert your memory card. Open My Computer, open SDCard or Removable Disk, Open My Music and simply drag and drop the music files ih that folder.

Click "Register for My T-Mobile"
Enter your 10-digit mobile number without spaces (e.g. 5557771234) and click "Submit"
Your phone will get a text message with your password. It will be something like ar1wo6 and it is CaSe sEnSiTiVe!
Log in using your mobile number and temporary password
Fill in the information the page asks (note: you will be asked to provide a new password, and if you are using a Sidekick, this will also change your Sidekick login password)
