boy, seems maxent's are really hard to get fixed, I have called all over to get mine fixed and alot of places wont fix it because parts ar so hard to get, and the customer service for maxent, well they dont answer the phone put you on hold, and dont answer the customer service email that you send. Bought Maxent three years ago, beautiful picture, then just sitting watching TV and picture went black, sound on. Shut off, both came on for a few seconds then black again, sound ok, I am wits end, any help will be appreciated, live in Jersey, good TV repair that will fix them, maxent will be appreciated. thanks.

    I have a Maxent MX-42HPM20 42" HD Plasma television.

The picture does not work.. but sound DOES. I was watching TV one day, and power went out
and then picture never came back. We were watching TV, then suddenly the power in the room
went out. I went to the basement, the breaker had been tripped, so I reset it. Came back
up, turned on the TV and the light came on, and I could receive sound, but no picture.
That is how it still is currently. Sound works fine, just no picture.

After reading all the posts on FixYa and other websites, I am starting to think I have a
I need to replace my televisions Y-Sustain (also called Y-Main) Board. Does anyone have any information
on this problem or have any input on what I need to do to fix this? I also have come to the conclusion
that once I replace the Y-Sustain (also called Y-Main) Board, I need to add computer fans to
the Y-Sustain and X-Sustain boards to prevent this from happening in the future, is this
also correct? Finally, do I need to replace the X-Sustain at the same time as the Y-Sustain (I heard the
X-Sustain rarely burns out like the Y-Sustain from overheating)?

the problem I have, the picture will turn off and there still is sound. I turn the main switch off and wait for a minute and turn it back on then its fine for about 10-to-20min. then the picture blanks out again and the sound remains.

I had the identical problem (clicking sounds, no picture, but just the sound). I took Richdogg's advice above, but it didn't work out for me (lost money on the purchase of the part) - no offense Richdogg as I'm sure that was the problem in your TV. I later found out that the problem was with the Y-Sustain (also called Y-Main) Board. As with most parts in this TV, this is also made by Samsung and used in Maxent, Magnavox and a number of other 42" TVs. The part number is LJ 92-01256A (using LJ 41-02668A also give you the same part number). Hope others will find this useful.

I had this same problem it turned out to be the secondary power supply. This part is made by Samsung and used in Maxent and Dell systems. The part number is LJ44-00068A. It will range from $89 to $259.99 on Ebay. The Dell pricing is better.

There can be lots of things in the whole audio chain that can be wrong, but I limit to things you could try and test yourself.
You could switch the sound switch, where it says Hi-Fi Sound several times, up and down and then check if on any setting you hear something. (lift the view finder up. I thought it was the switch to the front.
Then you could try to put in a headphone, and listen if you then hear any sound. If the switch behind the plug is oxidised the sound is gone too. If you hear sound in the headphone you know almost every thing is working. when you unplug the phone and you again hear nothing, plug and unplug several times. Difficult to clean it yourself, because you could cause the oxide or other debris comes in the camera.
Then you have a video / audio output switch right side to the front, try switching that one too, several times. I hope you get the old baby working again.

I no longer hear the clicking sound when I click

Relax, nothing wrong....
click is simply a user's preference.
Old old keyboards used to click all by themselves. Now the keyboard uses the onboard speaker to do its clicking.
Go to "Sounds" in the [Control Panel] and un-mute the speaker.
I prefer no sound...
