My wife shut off my phone line because we are going through a divorce and i want to use another provider but he told me i need to unlock it because at&t put a lock code on that phone once unlocked I can get any provider I want I paid almost 300 dollars for the phone and I dont want to buy another one
If you pay off the contract with AT&T they will unlock it for use with other service providers....Been there done that, had to pay a $200.00 early termination fee then my phone would work with any provider. I know this is not good news, but it is what has to happen to legally use the phone again. Even if you do some how get it unlocked, AT&T still has the eic of the phone and can just zap it again. any money spent to unlock will be lost and you have to start over again.
