DW705 Miter saw Spark in motor Compartment

I saw a spark in the motor compartment is that normal? And is it possible for the bevel and miter to be off and how would I fix that?

Yes spark in motor compartment is normal. You only need to worry if you see a lot of sparks flying out of the motor compartment! Most power tools will spark inside the motor compartment (particularly if carbon brushes are used).

Bevel and miter could be off... Consult your manual for how to adjust these correctly, but usually the bevel has a 0-degree setting screw or adjustment, and the miter adjustment on the saw is usually done by altering the fence position... Again check your manual for specifics on your saw.

The armature has gone on my dewalt dw 705 mitre saw. Lots of sparks and smells. Can you suggest where I get a new motor. Spares are just too expensive. Thankyou. Andy

Bosch Glide Miter Saw get stuck at 45 degree bevel to the left

Adjusting the miter angle involves two cast surfaces sliding against each other. If those surfaces have some irregularities, high spots on the two surfaces will bind against each other. You may have to disassemble the rotating table from the base and do some filing or grinding.

How to replace arm locking pin on a dw705 Type 4 miter saw

Can't remember how much access there is at the back on that model, on some you have to take the main hinge pin out to get to it and move the top arm assembly out of the way. Not always the easiest of jobs.

How do I remove 12" blade from from dw705 miter

loosen the guard screw, UNPLUG tool first, move the guard out of the way, there is a spindle lockon the backside of the gearcase push it and slowly turn the blade until it engages and then remove the bolt, it is a left hand thread. DO NOT disassemble the guard, just loosen bolt and move out away from blade also you need to have the head in the raised position.
