Question about Akai LCT2060 Television
We were watching television and suddenly the picture and sound went off and we have not been able to get it to come back on. We were 20 days out of warranty and the factory has finally agreed to fix the problem but we have to pay to ship the television and it will take 8 to 10 weeks. We would like to explore the possibility of fixing it ourselves. The shipping charge is quite high and we really do not want to be without a television for that amount of time. It was connected to Time Warner Cable and there was not a problem with our cable services. My husband is a car mechanic and if he had instructions and the part and I am quite sure he would be able to fix the problem himself. Thanks.
I just got done fixing an Akai LCT2660 that had four bad capacitors on the power board.Works perfect now.Hope this helps.Thank You very much!

Hello The problem here is that what it looks like is that you might have a power supply problem. I would suggest that you get a qualified TV tech to look at your system. and here is why, Your husband may be a good mechanic but he more than likely does not know about Tvs and the internal circuitry in them. Look at it this way, you have neurologists and you have cardiologists both are doctors, both are smart, but one works on the brain and the other on the heart. I think you get my point? My suggestion would be to get a TV tech to look at your system it might be as simple as a blown fuse of as complex as a overcurrent shutdown circiut.
