I was watching the tv. I heard a click (relay?), tv was dead. There was now a high-pitched whine coming from the inside of the tv that wasn't there before. I hear it when tv is plugged-in. I changed the power supply board but made no difference.
Testimonial: "This person really knows their s**t and didn't insult me like other pinheads that asked me stupid questions like "is it plugged-in?" Wow, a person that's actually helpful. What a concept!"

Most likely the color wheel is starting to go bad adn when they do they get a high pitched whine sound coming from the bearrings on the wheel. Might want to look at getting a replacement before it quits. When they die you can't watch your tv till it is repaired.
This tv is under five years old?Yes,it is worth fixing.Over five,i would compare the prices for a new LCD tv and the quote priced from the Tv Tech.for the old tv.This tv have high voltage problems around the Deflection circuitries area.Could be any things burn in this area. The high pitched whine sound,i'm sure it is from the FBT-the high voltages flyback transformer, high voltages current have no where to go.Must hire a tv tech. to troubleshoots and replace parts on the Deflection circuitries area. Also the FBT could be dead too, because HV Current bounces back forth and have no where else to go.The prices to troubleshoot unknown problems is about $400 bucks and plus cost of replacement of parts.
The colors wheel is dead. That why,u hearing high pitched whining sound. The colors wheel is spinning off of is motor axis and grinding it sides walls, that where the high pitched whining sound came from.Hire a tv Tech. for the colors wheel changing, because it requiring to take out alots of the machanicals parts itself, before u can come to the colors wheel itself to change it.
This might be from the IHVT (Integrated High Voltage Transformer), or more specifically a short in the IHVT causing it to arc, producing the high pitched whine, you are hearing. Take the back off of the TV and try to detect where the sound is coming from, more then likely you will notice it coming from the section that contains a large component with a large red cable coming from it, to the top of the CRT (picture tube). Replace the IHVT (with the exact same model) if it is bad.
