The agiatator in the washer seems to be locked up. It will go through all other cycles except the spin. I have fixed the safety switch last week and now this happened. I have it taken apart and can see a belt that does not appear to be on any pully of any kind. Could this be it? Just before it stopped spinning it shook violently.

Hello there, I got a whirlpool sport washer machine that is showing off code f-28 and it gets the door locked! I have unplugged it and have taken the toe kick plate to reach for the release lock. I select a cycle but it seems to send signals to the motor, inlet valves but it just stops and nothing happens,. so if you could help me I would really appreciate it! thanks joe
Your washer does not have a belt. It has a transmission, and they seem not to fail very often. Usually, the problem lies with the timer or some other switch. What exactly happens when your spin cycle comes around? Normally, after the wash cycle, the machine stops, then the spin cycle starts in the opposite rotation. The first thing that happens is the water is pumped out, then as the speed increases, the spinning throws the rest of the water out of your clothes. If your machine does pump down the water, but doesn't spin fast, then you might have a transmission problem, but if it also fails to pump out the water, you could have a timer or switch problem, as some machines won't spin with the lid open, and if the switch is broken, the machine thinks the lid is open.
the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins
agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin
cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.
may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with
water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse
water. See There's no cold water.
Your Agiator "Dogs" maybe stripped these hold the agiator in the wash cycle place you han on top of the agit. and try to turn it clockwise then go back counter colkwise is it feel like it is grabbing or just free spinning??
