Dell dimension E310 DVD ROM does not recognize DVD
I know that the product below says i have a 4600 pc desktop. I really have a dell dimension E310. That was not an option on your list.
My DVD will not recognize a DVD or PC/DVD game software. It runs standard software and music CDs but when a DVD movie or software is inserted it says "no dvd". I cannot run the DVD manually or automatically. I reinstalled powerDVD and still have the same result. My Driver is: TSST corp CDRWDVD TS-H492c. What can I do?
I AM UNABLE TO WATCH DVDS, LISTEN TO AUDIO CDS, DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE CDS, OR BURN IT SEEMS THAT THE DRIVE IS NOT RECOGNIZING THAT THERE IS EVEN A DISC IN THE DRIVE

From the driver, it looks like it is a dvd reader.
Try to delete the filters from the registry by performing the following steps.
If u have win XP, click start and then click run and then type 'regedit' and then hit ok.
If u have win Vista, click start and then type 'regedit' in t he Start Search field and then hit enter.
Once you get the registry editor screen, click on the + sign next to computer and then + next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHIINE and then + next to CURRENTCONTROLSET and then + next to CONTROL and then + next to CLASS.
Under Class, you will find a lot of folder in sequence with numbers and letters.
This time click on the folder itself and on the right side of the screen, u will find some entries.
Pls look for either 'Upper Filters' or Lower Filters' and right click on them and delete them.
Close registry editor and restart the computer. After restart, the dvd's should get detected.
If this doesnt work, then download the original drivers or any updates from the manufacturers website,
