Puck board The other night, I got back from the bar, and got some bad news about an old friend. Ended up spilling either some whiskey or wine on the puck, which caused the speakers to stop producing sound. I then put it in some rice, for lack of any better option, waited for it to dry. and tried it out. Needless to say, it didn't work, nor did I get any feedback from the jacks when touched, or plugged in. The closest action to sound I have been able to get has been powering it on at which point the initial "pop" sounds but nothing works after that. I've cleaned the board to the best extent I can, but I could not get inside the variable resistors to clean their internals. I'm aware of the components and functions of boards, but I have little knowledge of them outside how to put the together, and making basic circuits. I think that the puck is either malfunctioning, or some sore of short with the puck may have caused the complete failure of the MB, or a fuse, if any are onboard. Once again, I'm not much help I'm sure, I'm not well versed on electrical engineering, but if anyone knows a work around I am quite good at working with solder and boards if I know what should go where. Even if it means making a new puck, or just bypassing it. Anything I need the puck for, I can control with the audio source.

SOURCE: Speakers not working, but cables all plugged in...

You might have to reinstall the software that came with the speakers since you had to wipe your computer clean when the virus was on there. The speakers will not work until the software is installed back on your computer.

SOURCE: Speakers not working, but cables all plugged in...

the problem is your computer may not sense the presence of your audio device, chances are your driver is either corrupted nor not yet installed.
go to my computer then right click go to properties, hardware, device manager,
under the device manager go to sounds and see if ther is any exclamation icon or anything , expand this icon and see if there is anything you see that has a yellow exclamation or question mark right click that icon and select scan for hardware changes , then update driver , better yet go to sound properties and see if you can roll back the driver, if you have the cd utilities for your computer, you can reinstall the driver again and after all this restart once again your computer
cheers

SOURCE: x-540 speakers no sound rear speakers

rear speakers are not designed to put out the same output as fronts. They are for supplemental sound only, to make it seem like there's something happening behind you.

SOURCE: loss of sound to Logitech Z560

I repaired Z-560 speakers with a defective left front channel by chopping off one of the input leads close to the 3.5 mm stereo jack that goes into the PC and joining on the leads from a new one. At first I thought the fault lay in the main amplifiers in the sub woofer unit but I was wrong and it turned out to be far simpler to fix than I anticipated.

Beer spillage on my macbook pro keyboard and now some of the buttons(including space bar)do not work or responde

Turn off your computer and let it dry out. Leaving the computer running will just cook the liquid and make it stickier. If you ever have a spill again, turn your comp off right away and let it dry out for a good week.

I spilled wine all over an old laptop of mine. Some buttons wouldn't work. I gave it to a friend who asked for it and she says it has worked great for her.

Give your comp a bit of time to dry out. Let it sit in the sun in a window for a week, then try to turn it back on.

If the above doesn't work, ask the guys at your local computer store what you could try to clean it.

Wine spilled on camera - repair or buy new one

It would be quite difficult to bring this camera back. I would suggest buying a new camera and keeping it away from the wine. Even if you did get a quote you liked and decided to get the camera repaired it is unlikely that the technician would be able to restore it to pre-wine functionality.
