This seems like to lens extending motor has gone. If it is out of warranty and the cost of a repair is expensive as you have discovered You will have great fun taking it to bits But you will not be able to repair it. So -new camera- eventually

Have canon Powershot A75 3.2 Mega pixel camera .. Now it is having display issue. Once i open my camera lens come out power come but unable to see the image in lcd to shoot.. Can you assist

First try pressing the DISPLAY button. If that doesn't fix it then this sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Canon camera when turned on, lens will not

Hi

What you are seeing is a generic error message, starting your camera again won't do anything unfortunately.

You need to replace the lens, we have your lens repair available on our site for about $75! If we can help please let us know.

E18

The following blog outlines some repair options for an E18 lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty:

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

It's important that you fix the E18 error first, as the blur of colors may be symproms of a failing CCD. If so, Canon would fix this for you for free IF the camera has no other problems (ie no E18 lens error). Please see the following info:

I have a Canon S400 digital elf. Suddenly, the lens doesn' open....after recharging battery. I get a beep followed by buzzing....and the screen says 'E18'? Can you help. Thank you Mickey Chasse

This is a very common problem with several digital cameras the buzz sound it the motor being obstructed. and it is giving you a lens error some times you can tape the camera on its side gently while turning it on and free the jam some times not. if not you need the camera serviced. I repair these all the time because of this problem. Cost for repair are normally 65.00 plus 10.00 labor and 8.00 for shipping the camera back let me know if I can help you any further on this issue.
