Question about U-Line CO2075F-B Echelon Refrigerator Ice Maker Combination

Leak out of the from of the ice machine - flashing p1

I bought a u-line ice machine last year and i can't find the owners manual. the unit is leaking out of the front bottom and the panel is flashing p1 ice is melting and not making new ice i'm thinking is it a clog in the water line... any suggestions?

P1 means a problem with your drain. Most of the time its a kink in the line. Double check your drain line or it could even be a bad drain pump.

What is wrong with a Westpointe dehumidifier when it stops removing water and displays P1? It will run this way for hours and kick in and work briefly once in a while on continuous.
Usually the P1 error indicates that dehumidifier needs to be defrosted. The unit has detected ice build-up on the condenser coils.

Unplug the dehumidifier for several hours. Then plug it back in. If the problem recurs, check that the fan that blows air across the coils is working properly. Make sure that the room is not colder than the operating range of the dehumidifier. If the problems continues to occur, you may have a refrigerant leak in the system. That will require a service call to repair the dehumidifier.

If the unit is under warranty, contact Westpointe. The manual I have for a Westpointe 65 PT dehumidifier, https://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/content/pdfs/136333-1.pdf, indicates the unit is covered through year 5 after purchase for a refrigerant system. For Warranty service, the contact point is Midea Consumer Service at 1-866-646-4332. If the unit is not under warranty, consider whether to replace the dehumidifier.

(I have seen a dehumidifier develop a refrigerant leak. It constantly froze before the leak was repaired and the refrigerant topped off.)

ICE MAKER NOT MAKING ICE AND LEAKING
Your ICE MAKER may be blocked in some way [CLEAN water inlet lines &/or replace the in-line FILTER] OR the THERMOSTAT could be faulty [in an older unit]. Check all in-line water pipe connections for leaks AND/OR damage from any rodents you may have had in your home. This is particularly prevalent in tropical areas and when inlet lines are made from any type of nylon/plastic material. ALSO check your DOOR SEALS as this will sometimes cause this type of problem. It is also possible that the INSULATION in your older unit may be breaking down [you will notice moisture/"sweating" on the outer case surfaces which would indicate this type of fault].

check the water inlet valve and the water line going to and from it and the line going to the pump in the back are common leaking areas

I have a scotsman dce 33 it is 10 years old. Service man said it has a leak and is a sealed unit. I would need a whole new sealed unit. Could this be repaired by putting a valve in line, fixing the leak...
What I gather from the technicians remarks are the whole sealed unit and he leaves out the defined area of the leak. Sometimes leaks like this are really difficult to find and repair especially if the ice machine is still in use. To answer your question yes it most likely can be fixed if the leak location is found, fixed, pull another vacuum and recharged with Freon, If you have more questions I will be here to answer them for you, Sea Breeze

Your machine has a sealed system leak and is low on freon. Read your owners manual and there should be a 5 year sealed system warranty. If so you will need your purchase receipt and call an authorized LG dealer for an exchange.

I would recommend to call U-line and let them know about the problem. They would recommend to get the unit back to them so they can review it. Make sure nothing was done to the unit. Leave it as is. If they find a defect with the unit then they will ask for estimates. U-line will probably pay for the unit to be brought back to them.

Freezer froze on top thawing on bottom
Dispose of the unit and buy a new one. If it leaked the refrigerant out you have to fix the leak before charging it again. The chances of finding the leak are slim.

Four things cause icing up:
( 1 ) Is your filter clean? dirty filter blocks air flow causing iceing up. replace filter
( 2 ) Do you hear the Indoor fan running? If the fans not running the unit ices up. Check Capacitor to fan if good.
Bad fan motor... replace fan motor and cap. If both good
( 3 ) Check Air Handler evap coil if dirty and or clogged, restricts air flow causing unit to ice up. Use toilet brush to clean.
This is always a big possibility if you have pets.
( 4 ) If the above are not present then you are low on refrigerant.
Low refrigerant will cause icing up because the gas does not flash properly. This will require a service tech.
refrigerant leaks can be as simple as a loose cap on the king valve, leaking schrader core, to coil leak.
Have the service tech show you the leak. If it is in a copper line it can be fixed. If the system is over 10 years old limit the amount you want to spend. 10 years is the standard life expectantcy anymore. Good luck
