My sony blinks off when there are a lot of white colors in the scene. I tried turning the brightness all the way down but as soon as white shows up the picture goes out.

Trinitron, about 8 years old, blinks when get a lot of white displayed or if you just turned it on. Used to stop and stabilize after about 5 minutes, now continues for hours but less severe as it is on for a while.

Possible problem and cost to fix of 5 blink error code on Sony Trinitron kv36fs200

The 5 blinks usually means a loss of video which can be caused by the failure of a number of transistors or an IC. It is unlikely that the trip home caused this. I assume from your problem description that turning up the screen control had no effect. Is that correct? I'll look this model up and try to get more specifics for you.

Sony Trinitron Blinking

Hi R012611H

Sorry to take so long to get to you. Most sony Tuve TV's are pretty good performers for colour. If you are into that sort of thing, so can be worthwhile fixing. If it has power supply problems, may cost you up to $200 to fix. Rule of thumb, if repairs are more than half the replacement cost, it is uneconomic to repair.
