Saeco Magic Comfort Plus still producing steam in "off" position.
I steamed some milk for cappuccinos and when I turned the knob to the "off" position, steam kept coming out of the wand. Eventually it stopped, but when I went to push for a shot of espresso, the machine shut itself off. No amount of fiddling with the on/off switch could get it to come back on.
This morning the machine fired right up, and, again, after I steamed a small cup of milk, the steamer kept steaming, and no amount of turning the knob could get it to stop producing steam. Again, it did stop on its own, and, again, the machine shut itself off.
I am assuming there is a valve or seal not completely closing that is allowing the steam to keep coming, and it is, also, leaking a bit of water causing the machine to shut down.
Is this something I can fix, or is a trip to a repair center necessary.
Re: Saeco Magic Comfort Plus still producing steam in...
Mine was doing something similar. There is a leaf switch that is actuated by turning the steam knob. On my machine, that leaf switch was sticking in the closed position. I took it out and cleaned it and now it turns off immediately.

This may be something you can fix. It depends on your comfort level with mechanical repairs. You probably need to replace some o-rings in the steam valve. Don't keep trying to brew or steam because leaking water or steam inside may cause an electrical short. Decide if you want to delve into the repair, or locate a repair center near you. I could put you in touch with some.

Hi
To descale your Magic Comfort +, enter the menu and scroll to descale. Push the menu button to descale. Mix your solution in your water tank. Use warm to hot water and dissolve all the solution. Place the water tank on your machine. With a container under the steam wand that is large enough to catch all the water in the tank, you are ready to begin. To start the descaling process, open the steam knob. The machine will automatically start the descaling process and when it is finished, it will shut off and tell you that it needs to be rinsed. Remove the water tank and rinse with fresh water. Refill the water tank and place it on the machine. Turn off the machine, wait a moment, and then turn it back on. Press the hot water button to start pumping fresh water through the boiler. Pump out about 16 oz. of water and then turn off the hot water button and open the steam knob to rinse the steam boiler. When it starts to go to steam, turn off and turn on the hot water button again. Pump out another 16 oz. Repeat this process with the steam knob until you have emptied the water tank. Descaling is complete. Go to your menu and scroll to "reset descale", push the enter button and chose "Yes" and push the enter button. Now it will tell you we next to be descaled.
You can get most parts from Saeco directly. I know they are hard to get in touch with, but once you get them they are extremely helpful. The parts are a bit expensive, but it is nice to be able to purchase them. I was able to find a parts list for my Saeco Magic Comfort Plus by doing an Internet search for it. It has every part listed and a take apart view; very handy to see what goes where and what possibly might need replacing. You may want to see if Saeco offers that when you call them for your model.
open steam knob and water need start going on steam wand keep going couple minuts and you will see machine is ready,if you still have same problem thats mean your flowmetar is not good
I think your model only has one boiler, it is possible that the thermostat for the steam could be damaged. or on the mainboard, connection that turns the steam on is damaged(I had that happen on a compact digital).
Clean the steam wand, it unscrews and needs to be cleaned, also, descale the machine once the blocked tube is cleaned. When milk dries it is like glue and clogs the steam wand. so clean it daily after use.
Also, I think you meant to say, steam for milk frothing is not coming out. If you meant steamed milk is not coming out, it's not supposed to do that. Some Saeco's can add an attachment called a milk island but not the magic comfort plus.
the saeco royal digital dosn't froth milk.... it produces steam, you are the one that froths the milk. is the machine still producing steam? if not you will need to have your steam boiler replaced. This should only be dune by a qualified repairer. If it is still producing steam but it is not as good as it use to be, descalling you machine may help.
I have had this problem with our coffee machine as well some how the machine has sucked air into the system and needs to get it out.
To ventilate the machine turn the dial on top of the 'magic comfort' sign (the one for the froth) and place a glass underneath. Keep the dial turned till the sign ventilate goes away then close the dial.
