SmartParts SP1100B 11'' picture frame won't turn on

Frame was working fine. I was connected to my computer and downloading pictures onto the memory card. When I disconnected the USB cable, the screen went blank and powered down. It will NOT turn back on. The AC power cord was tested and showed juice coming through.

Frame was bought Oct. '08 so outside 90 day warrenty period. I've tried the SmartParts service line and they don't ever seem to be available.

Sounds like there was a power serge.  One of the suggestions would be to make sure you use the "safely Remove Hardware" tab on the tool bar.  The USB cable actually has power that goes through the line and can damage the flash memory in the picture frame.
your one hope would be to try another USB cable.

Hi...my SmartParts Digital Photo Frame, Model number SP15MW, is not working right. It has pink vertical lines going through the photos and looks awful. I haven't used it much and can't figure out why its...

I had the same problem, I downloaded the desktop software from the manufacturer's website at: http://www.smartpartsproducts.com/content/support/optipix/index.php

It fixed my problem. Create a folder on your computer's desktop, remove the photos from your SD card, use your cable to connect your computer to the frame, then re-import the pictures to the frame using the optimization tool on the Smartparts Desktop. Works like a charm!

Cannot load pictures onto SmartParts Digital frame

You can't see pictures on the frame while it's connected to the computer. The frame is supposed to say, "PC Connection established..." If you go to My computer and look for your frame as a removable device, you can open it and view the internal memory of the frame. You can see all the pictures on the frame and delete them if you wish.

Can not find the setup file for the smartparts 7 inch digital pic

The setup file is on the frame. Connect the frame to your computer w/ the USB cable. Go to MY COMPUTER. Look for your frame as a removable device and open it up. There is a blue icon called "setup." If you click on it, it will start to download to your computer. If you can't find it, you can download from Smartparts website at this link:

To remove a picture, connect the frame to your PC via USB. you should see the frame appear as a drive, in my case,

open the drive as Explore, you can now see the pictures, and delete what you no longer want.

you can download the software from

Downloading pictures

Use an sd memory card. Transfer your pictures from your camera or computer to the card then put the card in the slot on the frame. You can buy them for as little as six dollars.
