It only seemed to leak in the hot water position...if you press down on it it REALLY leaks..The stores do not carry repair kits for them. We bought a used one like it and it seems to be not leaking for the most part. I guess my question is, why does it leak? Thanks for any hints!
SOURCE: Delta single handle kitchen sink faucet
Tuen the stops off unsder the sink . Remove the alaen screw from the handle. Using a spanner wrinch or a needle nosed pliers spred apart unscrew the large nut that has two slots. Lift the whole assembly out. Take assembly to the plunmbign supply and match ius the kit that youy need with has two new rubber seals and two springs and maybe a new spanner nut. It also comes with the spanner wrench and allen wrench needed to renstall. Tip you may be able just to tighten the spanner nut(clockwise) and stop the leak w/o rebuilding it.

I may be able to help you. Some faucets are made with the option to have a base or to mount directly to the counter. The bigger washer might be the one that seals the faucet to the counter The leak out of the top of the faucet is probably caused from the plastic nut with the grooves in the top of it not being tight enough. The repair kit should have came with a tool that has a allen wrench on one end and two prongs on the other.Use the pronged end to tighten the plastic nut ,If the other parts where put in correctly this should cure your problem. If the faucet continues to leak you can get a pamplet that will give you instructions from a rep at the plumbing supply or on line in one of the sights for Delta Faucets.
SOURCE: low pressure and flow on hot water side of single handle faucet
It could be one of two problems, one simple, one serious.
If you have steel pipes you may be experiencing reduced flow due to corrosion in your pipes. Reduced hot water pressure in the kitchen faucet is usually the first sign since this is the faucet that is most used in the home.
Repiping is a job for a professional. Another symptom you may need a repipe is orange colored or rusty water.
